[Bug 1724955] Re: unable to drag monitors in Display Arrangement
Ultimately there IS a way to rearrange them but one needs to be very patient. It's like a puzzle :) All three monitors of the same resolution are connected to an NVidia 1060 with 3 different types of cable (Display, normal HDMI, old HDMI) so I cannot replug them easily at the card, and I would have do some rerouting at the monitor stands where cables are attached. I will probably have to do that... I also have a TV on an HDMI cable (sadly it always comed as #1), which, when I last unplugged it, rearranged everything again. Not very nice. I attached NVIDIA X Server Settings. BTW I tried to reorder monitors in NVIDIA X Server Settings but the settings were always overwritten on reboot. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2017-11-07 18-31-20.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1724955/+attachment/5005611/+files/Screenshot%20from%202017-11-07%2018-31-20.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724955 Title: unable to drag monitors in Display Arrangement To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1724955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1730254] [NEW] Gnome Shell or X disappears with last log message _st_paint_shadow_with_opacity: assertion 'shadow_pipeline != NULL' failed
Public bug reported: gnome-shell or X is disappearing (crashing?), with frequency of roughly 1 time per 2 days. This last time it happened when my partner was switching users (we have 2 users on this box "Beast"). This is a new Ubuntu 17.10 setup on i7700/NVidia 1060 with 3 monitors plugged to 1060. The symptom is black screen with lines like [ OK ] Started User Manager for UID 121 and unresponsive keyboard. Hard drive was blinking so I tried and I was able to SSH into the machine and run ubuntu-bug.
