[Bug 252361] [NEW] Imagemagick should recommend/suggest ufraw
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: imagemagick Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release:8.04 imagemagick: Installed: 7:6.3.7.9.dfsg1-2ubuntu1 When trying to use the "display"-command in imagemagick to show a RAW-file from a digital camera imagemagick complains that it can't find the executable "ufraw-batch" (in the ufraw package). I realize that since imagemagick is in main it can't depend on ufraw, and I don't know if it can recommend it either, since recommendations are installed automatically. But there should at least be some kind of hint from the package description that it might need ufraw to handle RAW-files from digital cameras. ** Affects: imagemagick (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Imagemagick should recommend/suggest ufraw https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252361 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 87661] Re: [apport] polytopes crashed with SIGILL in _mesa_x86_64_transform_points4_perspective()
By checking `uname -m` we only detect if the _kernel_ is x86-64. This would be a problem if someone was running a 64-bit kernel and a 32-bit userland because they would get MESA_NO_ASM exported without needing it. I think it would be better to do if [ `dpkg --print-architecture` = "amd64" ] Because that would tell us if we were running in an amd64 userland and that's what we really want to test for. I think checking for "3dnow" in flags is preferred because AMD is not the only cpu vendor using that technology, even though none of the others have built any 64-bit chips yet, it would probably be more future-proof. -- [apport] polytopes crashed with SIGILL in _mesa_x86_64_transform_points4_perspective() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes, but disabling it completely obviously raises some other issues that it fixes. [Bug 153943] Gdebi-kde uses massive amounts of memory!
Public bug reported: When I tried gdebi-kde today to install an updated kdelibs-deb (to fix the kopete issue) I suddenly noticed that my system was getting less and less responsive, with increasing disk activity. It seemed that gdebi allocated massive amounts of memory, when I checked with "top" it said that gdebi-kde was using 56% of my available memory (1024MB). I am quite sure that this wasn't the case when I used gdebi-kde before, although I usually stick to using "dpkg" in a terminal. The massive disk activity was apparently because of all the swapping the kernel needed to do to get more memory. I don't have any crash log or anything, but I'll be happy to provide the devs with whatever gdb/valgrind/somethingelse-output they might need. ** Affects: gdebi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gdebi-kde uses massive amounts of memory! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've just tried running gdebi-kde on the exact same computer, but instead of i386 (which I usually run) I tried running the amd64-flavour from a USB-stick. [Bug 129226] Re: Kernel oops on resume
I've just experienced the same Bug upon resuming from Hibernate (s2disk) using linux-image-2.6.22-9-generic ver. 2.6.22-9.20 on i386. I also experienced the caps lock + scroll lock LEDs blinking. [Bug 194860] Re: Hardy regressions [bash-completion]
This problem seems to be because of a change in the file /etc/bash_completion The change is in almost all completion definitions from: "cur=${COMP_WORDS[COMP_CWORD]}" to "cur=`_get_cword`" Replacing the /etc/bash_completion with the one from gutsy fixes this for me, and the problem that the fix is supposed to address is something that has never bothered me: # Get the word to complete # This is nicer than ${COMP_WORDS[$COMP_CWORD]}, since it handles cases # where the user is completing in the middle of a word. # (For example, if the line is "ls foobar", # and the cursor is here > ^ # it will complete just "foo", not "foobar", which is what the user wants.) -- Hardy regressions [bash-completion] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194860 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
