[Bug 1792857] [NEW] Mouse pointer is the wrong size after resuming from suspend
Public bug reported: After resuming from suspend, but mouse pointer is the wrong size when located in some parts of the screen. Specifically, when mousing over the left or top bars of the UI (not the desktop or any running programs), the pointer is too large. A workaround is to open display settings, pick any other resolution, click apply, then click revert. When the original resolution is restored, the pointer size returns to normal. [Bug 1691314] Re: Completions should be paged through PAGER when `page-completions` is off
** Description changed: When tab completion sends output through a pager, it seemed to use more. - Because less is better than more, I wanted it to use more instead, + Because less is better than more, I wanted it to use less instead, particularly so I can scroll in both directions. I initially made /bin/more a symlink to less (which would trigger its more-emulation mode, but that's still better than actual more), but this had no effect. As a result, I consulted the man page for bash. In the section on readline, there is a setting `page-completions` which says that when on (the default), readline will use a built-in more-like pager to page the results. This doesn't specify what happens when it is turned off, but I expected that instead of the built-in pager, it would use an external on, specifically the one specified in the PAGER environment variable. However, it instead simply dumps the results in the terminal. Please add some way to use PAGER as the pager for completion results. [Bug 1662774] [NEW] Icon and menu identify one program as another program
Public bug reported: On rare occasions, I launch gnome-terminal, and the icon in the dash/dock is for another program. The menu at the top of the screen also identifies the running program as that other program. In the forthcoming screenshot, note that the menu says "VLC media player" and although there is a gnome-terminal icon in the dash, it's not active. Instead, the VLC icon corresponds to the gnome-terminal window. If the other program is also running, the dash shows that there are two windows of that program (ie two VLCs) by showing two dots on the icon. Unfortunately, this is so rare that I can't remember if it is only gnome-terminal/VLC. (I don't think so, but I am not sure.) This is weird and wrong. [Bug 1310097] [NEW] rhythmbox segfaults when switching between songs on a CD

[Bug 1293141] [NEW] plymouth doesn't say which luks passphrase it wants
Public bug reported: I have two additional encrypted filesystems which are mounted at boot. For the first one, I'm prompted The filesystem for $mount_point is unavailable... enter passphrase for /dev/mapper/encrypted_vol. I've remembered the prompt incorrectly. The first prompt is as I described. For the second prompt, the text saying which filesystem is unavailable does change. [Bug 1285961] [NEW] Bluetooth disabled until reloading btusb module
Public bug reported: When I boot my machine, the bluetooth indicator isn't present. The bluetooth section of the system control panel shows that bluetooth is off, and bluetooth is disabled. But flipping the switch to on doesn't actually turn on bluetooth -- the switch in the GUI gets flipped to on, but bluetooth never actually comes up. If I navigate away and re- open the bluetooth control panel, the switch will be back to off. To get them to work, I run `sudo rmmod btusb sudo modprobe btusb rfkill unblock bluetooth`, which causes the bluetooth indicator to be displayed, and the bluetooth control panel to function normally. [Bug 1244869] Re: Unity home lens restricts results to only files after a search returning only files
Here's another example with the filter section expanded. As you can see, when searching with a query that returns several kinds of results, the filters don't change. But when searching with a query that returns only files, the filters are automatically changed to just files. To get search results for a query that should return applications, I have to either include applications in the filter, or remove files from the filter, which switches back to the default filters, which includes applications. The same thing happens with other categories. In the example, I used 'chrom' as a search term, which should return google-chrome. But it also returns some files. If I use a search term that only returns applications -- 'google-chrome' -- then the categories are restricted to applications (instead of files). So, it looks like the issue is really that the dash is changing the filters based on what kinds of results are being returned by your query -- and then not putting the filters back to the default when you do your next query. ** Attachment added: Another example, with the filters panel expanded https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scope-home/+bug/1244869/+attachment/3895981/+files/out-1.ogv -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244869 Title: Unity home lens restricts results to only files after a search returning only files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scope-home/+bug/1244869/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1244869] [NEW] Unity home lens restricts results to only files after a search returning only files
Public bug reported: After doing a search in the home lens (the one that returns both files and applications for a search), if your search returned files, then the next search will return files too, even if it should be returning applications. Steps to reproduce: 1. Press the super key to bring up the dash 2. Type a search query that will return only files 3. Go away, perhaps by opening the file you searched for, or pressing the super key again 4. Press the super key to bring up the dash 5. Replace the previous search term with a search query that should return applications 6. Notice that it actually returns only files I expected the 2nd search to return applications (and maybe files) -- but certainly not just files. The workaround is to delete the search query before beginning to type to replace the search term. I have a video showing the error. Let's see if I can attach it... [Bug 1170679] Re: Wireless driver crashes with WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/drivers/net/wireless/brcm80211/brcmsmac/main.c:7953
When I try to boot it, the kernel panics with can't find init, try passing init=. My system has encrypted LVM set up. So, /boot is on an unencrypted partition, and then it needs to decrypt and mount / in order to continue. I figure it is trying to use the boot partition as the root partition, which would explain why it can't find init. I'm not sure how to proceed, so I'm marking this as kernel-unable-to-test-upstream for now. ** Tags added: kernel-unable-to-test-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170679 Title: Wireless driver crashes with WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/drivers/net/wireless/brcm80211/brcmsmac/main.c:7953 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1170679/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1072084] [NEW] package exim4-config 4.76-3ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: This is like #1041980, but occurs because the upgrade detects a missing configuration template. Touching the missing file allows the upgrade to proceed to completion. The pre-install script should handle this better - in particular because I haven't done anything to modify the exim configuration since installation. This version of the package should be able to handle what the last version of the package put on my system. $ sudo apt-get install -f Reading package lists... [Bug 971757] [NEW] Can't remove category when editing a task
Public bug reported: I entered a task, then later added a category by adding @category. Now I can't remove it - when I remove the @ and everything after it, and save, the editing dialog closes, but the category isn't shown as removed in the main window. Re-editing shows that the text is unchanged, and @category is still present.
