[Bug 1114018] Re: Temperature info appears in System menu, not in application itself

2013-04-20 Thread Nanley Chery
This is not a bug. Xsensors' application icon is actually the bitmap it
uses to display temperature information.

2011-09-18 Thread Nanley Chery
The new upstream version contains all the fixes addressed in the ubuntu
patches (FTBFS) and provides new features as well. So according to the
wiki on merging, we can perform a sync.

I realize we're too late in the cycle to perform a regular sync, so I'm
just submitting this report in advance for the next development window.

2010-04-02 Thread Nanley Chery
I am not using an email client, just the launchpad web interface here,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsensors/+bug/553003

To repeat what I said before, please test if this is still a problem
with the newest version of xsensors. You can do this by either
installing and running the program in Lucid Lynx, or by executing the
binary from the source package. The directions to create the binary are
in the INSTALL file in the orig.tar.gz archive. Once created, you can
click and run it in the 'src' folder.

Don't forget that you must have lm-sensors installed, and that you must
run 'sudo sensors-detect' before attempting to run xsensors.

OK, so to test the newer version you could either try and test this in the
development version (lucid), or, from the orig.tar.gz, extract it, and run
./configure make make install in that directory. The compiled binary
should be in the ../src folder.

[Bug 520777] [NEW] Cancel button misleading when changing Desktop Effects

2010-02-11 Thread Nanley Chery
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Background:
In the Visual Effects tab of Appearance Preferences, when switching from None
to {Normal or Extra} a dialog appears saying searching for available
drivers...

Problem:
The cancel button on this dialog does not cancel the change to another mode,
instead it just skips the search for proper graphics drivers.

Resolution:
1. Rename the Cancel button to Skip
2. Add a real Cancel button that stops the change to a different mode
(optional)

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10

2009-12-17 Thread Nanley Chery
Did you run 'sudo sensors-detect' and loading the modules prior to
running xsensors? But I agree this is a bug, there should be at least a
dialog that tells the user to go through this initial step. Doing it for
the user would be even nicer.

[Bug 73405] Re: xsensors displays nothing and then crashes when closed.

2009-12-02 Thread Nanley Chery
@shankao,

Did you apply the patch that adds coretemp support before building the
package? It's included in my i386 .deb in comment #14, or you can find
it at the bottom of Bug #206862. I am also using coretemp and the new
xsensors works just fine.

2009-12-01 Thread Nanley Chery
I built an i386 package for xsensors 0.60. Can you guys test it out? Be
sure to run sesnsors-detect first.

If xsensors still malfunctions, then I think we should remove it, else
we should upgrade it - see Bug #206862

Did sensors-detect recommend any modules to load? And if so, did xsensors still
display nothing after you loaded the modules?
Thanks.

I followed your directions and I get xsensors 0.60 to build perfectly. I have
no gpg key so I don't know if it's of any use uploading anything other than the
