[Bug 1643706] Re: snap apps need to be able to browse outside of user $HOME dir. for Desktop installs
VLC is a media player... Kind of like a text editor, Opening files from arbritary locations is well within expected usage... At minimum, Snap should allow users to open arbritary files via the open dialog. Or maybe vlc should not be installed as a confined app.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1643706 Title: snap apps need to be able to browse outside of user $HOME dir. for Desktop installs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1643706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1170647] Re: After minimizing an external media, clicking on the Files icon on the Launcher doesn't restore the minimized window, but opens a new one
@ Alberto Salvia Novella Thanks for explaining this perfectly Until I read #81, nautilus's behaviour was utterly erratic and perplexing to me. This probably affects 99% of users. This problem is exacerbated for users like me who keep most of their files in a separate partition (for easy access in dual-boot windows/ubuntu setup). This is clearly a UI FAIL. The icon in launcher is the same for nautilus file manager and for home folder. The simplest solution is to eradicate this distinction between File manager window showing a home folder and file manager showing other folders. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170647 Title: After minimizing an external media, clicking on the Files icon on the Launcher doesn't restore the minimized window, but opens a new one To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1170647/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 751630] Re: Right click should present a context menu in unity dash
Where is this design discussion because this badly needs to be implemented. More importantly where is the context-menu for files, such as very essential options like Open with.., Properties etc. If unity at least gave an Open Containing Folder.. option one could use nautilus to perform advanced operations. As it stands, Files folders can only be used to perform one task - find and open the file with default program. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/751630 Title: Right click should present a context menu in unity dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/751630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 704231] Re: Unity steals super modifier key
Agree with Cefn and Exquisite Dead Guy. 1. This behaviour breaks the functionality of Keyboard Shortcuts applet, (which is included with Ubuntu) and does so without giving any reason or warning. This makes for an inconsistent experience in Ubuntu. Perhaps a seperate bug report should be made regarding this alone? 2. This even breaks functionality that would be considered part of core desktop functionality such as Super + L to Lock Screen.
