and this works fine for cancellable errors, but it doesn’t work for e.g.

Answering myself: Chris confirmed that when bug #1377198 is fixed,
CertificateError.cancelled will also be emitted for non-overridable
errors. So connecting to onCancelled ought to be enough for all cases.

Additionally, i386 and and amd64 builds now also fail in CI, because of
the same error (interestingly they pass on armhf, I guess because they
are being run on real hardware as opposed to chroots for the other

I installed all 624 apps from the store (as of today) on a Nexus 7
running vivid-proposed (image #42), and grepped through them to get a
picture of which still use QtWebKit. Here’s a summary:
- 15 applications import (and supposedly use) QtWebKit directly:
Leaving the webbrowser-app task open as the webapp container is
currently built with QtWebKit support (for web applications that still
use version 1.0 of the policy). Once those applications are updated to
use version 1.1 of the policy, we can remove QtWebKit support, and a lot
of conditional code
All the apps that still use QtWebKit (either explicitly or through
Ubuntu.Components.Extras.Browser 0.1 or version 1.0 of the policy)
should be rather straightforward to migrate to Oxide with minimal
changes, without any work required in webbrowser-app.
There are two exceptions, which might not

ubuntu release anyway), this /dev/shm issue started appearing in vivid,
which would explain why we’re not seeing it in PPA builds.

Image extension fails to notify of source changes

I cannot reproduce the issue by manually executing the test case in the
same vivid VM that reproduces it when running the autopilot test. There
is no apparent difference in the automated test and the steps I’m taking
to reproduce:
- launch webbrowser-app, wait for page to be loaded
- click in
It seems making the test click anywhere in the rightmost half of the
reload button (x = 0.5 × width) makes it fail, whereas clicking
anywhere in the leftmost half (x 0.5 × width) makes it pass.
This doesn’t happen when interacting with the app manually.

I’m observing something interesting (and really puzzling). If in the
autopilot test I replace this code:
self.pointing_device.click_object(action_button)
by
self.pointing_device.move(
action_button.globalRect.x + action_button.width * 0.5,

It seems the issue stems from the workaround for bug #1297592 in autopilot,
rather than from the actual presence of python3-evdev.
That workaround always tries to create a touch device unconditionally, which
seems wrong (see
I think I (finally) found the culprit. When the entire text in the
address bar is selected (which happens programatically when giving focus
to the address bar), the TextField widget displays selection handles to
allow the user to resize the selection. The mouse areas to interact with

YouTube videos stuttering and not playing back
Unfortunately removing autopilot-touch from the runtime deps doesn’t fix
the issue, as python3-evdev is still pulled in as a recommends of
python3-autopilot (it seems that apt-get installs the recommends by
default).
I wonder if python3-evdev should be removed from the list of recommends

This might have the same root cause as bug #1417963 : if the UA override
mechanism is broken in oxide (due to the change in handling QVariant
passing from C++ to QML), then the override for youtube is not being
sent, and as a result we get a broken version of the mobile site. Need
to check again
