[Bug 666144] Re: 10.10 / drives not recognized / Marvell / DriveXpert
I did not have the problem when running 10.04/Lucid. You could try SystemRescueCD and see whether disks are recognised then. I have connected 4 disks to 5723. Orange ports (port 0 orange/port1 white) I have in BIOS (Drive Xpert) defined as Speed I think. In your case the disks would show as ONE 1500 GB disk. Another option is show only one 750 GB disk. In that case you save on one ang get automatic backup on the other one. Guess you are aware the BIOS setup, however just in case. When I boot some Marvell messages flash indicating disks are recognised. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/666144 Title: 10.10 / drives not recognized / Marvell / DriveXpert -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, I'm back in Qatar and Ubuntu is running. Think bug was resolved in 2.6.35.23. When today starting up with different kernels: 2.6.35.24: Works fine 2.6.35.23: Works fine 2.6.35.22: Still does not work Conclusion: Problem is solved. Hi, Yes it was an issue a few days back. The PC is in Qatar and I have only had 2 days in Qatar this month. I'm in Europe and will only be able to test early January when I'm back Best regards Per Arne On Wed, Dec 1, 2010 at 8:59 PM, Jeremy Foshee 666...@bugs.launchpad.netwrote: Hi Per, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 666144 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds .
