Fixed. Turned out that a ram stick had failed. [Bug 1913230] [NEW] Regression in kernel 5.10.0-12-generic - NVRM Xid 13 and 32, Gnome unusable
Public bug reported: Desktop became unusable after updating kernel from 5.8 to 5.10. Kernel spammed with NVRM Xid errors 13 and 32 reporting Graphics exception MISSING_MACRO_DATA among other things. Same symptoms with nvidia drivers 450 and 460. Works, however, with the nouveau driver. Booting kernel 5.8 fixes the issue, but obviously isn't a long term solution. [Bug 1719210] Re: Bluetooth audio to A2DP headset no longer works following upgrade from 4.12 to 4.13 in artful
I have to correct my earlier statement (comment 14), the linux-firmware package update didn't fix the problem after all - it seemed to work for a while, but I was mistaken. Now, however, I've gotten it working. The correct fix is to add the following line to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0 After a reboot, you can test if the option is enabled with cat /sys/module/iwlwifi/parameters/bt_coex_active (Should return 'N'). Since I added that option, I haven't had any further issues with my Sony Bluetooth Speaker (or WiFi). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1719210 Title: Bluetooth audio to A2DP headset no longer works following upgrade from 4.12 to 4.13 in artful To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1719210/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1720842] Re: USB Keyboard "Masione VMJ-02" ID 1c4f:0056 SiGma Micro: Ctrl / Super / Alt incorrectly recognized as L-Shift
I was just sitting down to figure out how to write a device driver, and when I loaded the usbmon module and fired up wireshark the keyboard started behaving. The first few keys were captured with the "modified" keycodes that the usbhid driver doesn't recognize properly, then it seems to have switched into "normal" mode and behaved like a regular usb keyboard. I tried it on two computers with the same result, i.e. sudo modprobe usbmon, sudo wireshark "fixes" the problem for some strange reason. Now if only I could figure out how to trigger the mode switch in a less annoying way that would be great. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720842 Title: USB Keyboard "Masione VMJ-02" ID 1c4f:0056 SiGma Micro: Ctrl / Super / Alt incorrectly recognized as L-Shift To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1720842/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1720842] [NEW] USB Keyboard "Masione VMJ-02" ID 1c4f:0056 SiGma Micro: Ctrl / Super / Alt incorrectly recognized as L-Shift

[Bug 763141] [NEW] Everything in Panel appears twice
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-applet My Plasma TV Monitor was coming up as 1024x768 after an upgrade to Natty. To restore the native resolution of 1360x768, I added the commands: xrandr --newmode "1360x768_60.00" 84.75 1360 1432 1568 1776 768 771 781 798 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VGA1 1360x768_60.00 xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1360x768_60.00 To /etc/gdm/Init/Default This fixed the resolution problem, but unfortunately has messed with the panel in Unity. I will attach a screenshot. Essentially the entire indicator area appears twice, side by side. Both "copies" are fully functional. [Bug 707751] [NEW] Occasionally the indicator applet items are missing, overlapping, un-clickable
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-applet Every second or third time the computer boots up, the shutdown icon is missing, and my username appears twice. The date/time indicator is often cut-off and unusable. Running pkill gnome-panel fixes it (for the session). This happens on multiple computers. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: indicator-applet 0.4.6-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-25.44-generic 2.6.35.10 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-25-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Jan 26 02:22:37 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007.1) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: indicator-applet ** Affects: indicator-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/707751 Title: Occasionally the indicator applet items are missing, overlapping, un- clickable -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 641494] [NEW] Settings in .gtkrc-2.0 not honoured in evolution's mail composition window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I am setting up a computer for a visually impaired user who has trouble seeing the caret/cursor in its default setting. I created the file .gtkrc-2.0 in the home directory and filled it in with the following text: style "custom" { GtkEntry::cursor_aspect_ratio = 0.9 GtkTextView::cursor_aspect_ratio = 0.9 EelEditableLabel::cursor_aspect_ratio = 0.9 GtkWidget::cursor_aspect_ratio = 0.9 } widget class "*" style "custom" This had the effect of making the caret/cursor visible everywhere in Gnome, and in most fields of Evolution, however, in the mail composition window the cursor settings are not honored. This, unfortunately, has the effect of making Evolution completely unusable for this person, so I will have to search for alternatives, perhaps Thunderbird. This bug is not a regression, searching the interwebs turned up a casual reference to the same behavior in Ubuntu 8.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.32-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Sep 17 10:29:39 2010 EcryptfsInUse: Yes ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: evolution ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- Settings in .gtkrc-2.0 not honoured in evolution's mail composition window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/641494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just to add my two cents: although this has been already mentioned in comment 83 I'd like to add that to mute the "PC Beep", just select it with the arrow keys and press 'm'. Simply setting the volume bars to 0 is *not* enough! This completely solved the issue for me in Lucid on a Dell XPS M1530. Ah right - if cryptsetup isn't installed, the "enter password" dialog still appears, but entering the password doesn't actually do anything. [Bug 521394] [NEW] After resume from suspend with encrypted USB drive connected, cannot reattach device
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cryptsetup I connect my USB Drive with encrypted content (using cryptsetup). After suspending and resuming, a window appears asking for the password, which I reenter. Following correct entry of the password, a message box appears with the following message: "Unable to mount 250 GB Encrypted Error unlocking device: cryptsetup exited with exit code 239: Command failed: Device already exists" Sure enough, nautilus has two entries: one from before the suspend action which is no longer labeled as encrypted, and, oddly, is now mounted as read-only. The file are accessible through this entry. The other quasi duplicate entry is labeled as encrypted but cannot be mounted (see error msg above). [Bug 32042] Re: OpenGL subroutine man pages missing
If a fix has been committed, can someone please document it here? I don't know what package to install, if any, to get the documentation. For now I have been forced to install the package I found here: http://emergent.unpythonic.net/01157053957 -- OpenGL subroutine man pages missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32042 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
