I've just upgraded to intrepid from hardy, and my previously working
HD3870/Dell 1905FP/radeon driver now fails with a blank screen. GDM is
still starting (start sound & checked process list from text tty), vesa
driver works

Disabling DRI using: Option "DRI" "off" in the Device section made no
difference (as expected since there is no DRI support for my chipset
yet).
Note that the Option "MonitorLayout" "TDMS, HDMI" line in my uploaded
xorg.conf was not present when the failure occurred, I had just tried
that as a pos

Ah-ha - thanks for the pointer :) The problem has probably shifted to
udev rules..
I tried booting without 'auto usb0' and without altering
/etc/default/rcS: the NFS mount now works. Unfortunately this prevents

my maverick desktop system. I then opened a backup of my password
database from KeePassSD v2.15. Clicking on any entry in the password
