Hi,
I have a XPS 9570 on Mint 19 all work.
After an installation you must to force the reboot (it is a bug of the
installer) with the on/off switch.
After reboot you must to install first the Nvidia grapghics drivers (or
you optain a crash at reboot).
After this all is perfect.
See you.

I have a problem with USB 3 drivers in Linux Mint 19, this problem goes
back many months ... I pointed this out to Ubuntu maintainers (mint 19
depends on Ubuntu for that) without succes.
I explain to you:
I have a Asus X99E-WS motherboard (lasted bios) with USB 3.0

This appears to be fixed. I cannot reproduce with the same camera (Canon
PowerShot SX200 iS) on Debian 9, using Digikam 5.3.0 and libkf5solid
5.28.0-3.

I thank you that you had take a look at this old bug report.
Currently, having 2 Ubuntu machines (one on 16.04 and another on 18.04), I
never had this issue anymore.
It seems to be fixed.
Best regards
Philippe
