This issue is reproducible with Intel DX58SO motherboard. It occurs when when open sites which contains Rich AJAX or flash player. eg Yahoo Chess. This problem is prominent on Ubuntu Versions greater than 10.04. I reported this bug Bug 986773 with apport but they also regarded it as Incomplete.

Hi Marteen, Even in virtual console it freezes. Steps I performed. 1) Login to my desktop session 2) Run command pgrep Xorg to get the pid. Lets say 1122 3) Then I pressed control-alt-f2 to go to virtual console. 4) Run command pgrep Xorg to get the pid and it was same i.e 1122 5) Run command

I think this is a known issue. (exe:3093): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead, this log came from chrome running flash (eg. Yahoo Chess). In the past the issue was regarding firefox but it is not. This is bug is causing system crashes(restarts). -- You received this bug notification
