side, since some applets was automatically removed from the panel, e.g.:

@Andres, I've tried Jaunty alpha5 LiveCD but still no horizontal scroll
available although checkbox is activated in gnome-control-center -- Mouse --
Touchpad -- Enable vertical/horizontal scrolling.
Also the trick doing (rmmod psmouse modprobe psmouse) don't activate scroll
for this kernel...

Unfortunately I can't check the behaviour with the actual beta-CD of ubuntu
since suspend no longer work correctly!
The screen remains black and the mouse just flashes up for a second when I
press a key, so I can't login again.
I hope this will change in the final release

scroll don't work after suspend.
This seems fixed with jaunty alpha6 LiveCD, but actually (using the latest
alpha LiveCd) the X-server seems to not work at all after suspend, so I can't

I just happened to try hibernation. It failed to resume.
Usually I am using suspend instead of hibernation, so this bug does

I still have this problem as well, under 9.10 it is even heavier than under
ther earlier Uby's.
With those verticalartefacts the system is just unworkable.
The only workaround still is to use vesa graphics, without *any* hardware
enhancement.
(and that means incredibly slow graphics !)

this problem appeared to me since around the beginning of july, with ubuntu
9.04 on a Dell 1310, which worked perfectly before since May
I use kernel 2.6.28-14-generic but it don't matter if I load an older installed
kernel, because none of them was able to make my keyboard and touchpad
I do not know what I did, but it seems like bad juju ...
I did 4 ubuntu fresh installs the last week (just playing around with
different desktop managers).
Right now this moment I am coming over this bug on a fresh install of
LinuxMint7 = Ubuntu Jaunty.
I am having it on a USB-disk install of
fixed it chmod 644 .dmrc and chmod o-w
/home/reinhard, which fixed the problem.
And it recurred after I fixed it and after the error message was absent
for a while.

To all, who would like to use drag and drop, have a look at comment
#171.
I have no LED and I can't use my right mouse-button.
Instead I configured 2-finger tap or corner-taps to simulate a right
mouse-button click.
This solution is not perfect, but makes my clickpad usable for my daily
work.
I am using Kubunt 11.04 with xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.3.99+git20110116 on
a HP dv7 with Synaptics Touchpad (model: 1, fw: 7.4, id: 0x1e0b1).
I can't highlight text or move windows. On the same laptop with Kubuntu 10.10

Hi, I have a HP 6910p with a Mobility Radeon X2300 and I seem to have
the exact same problem. For me it is no issue to use the old kernel
meanwhile. However, can I somehow help or try something out in order to
solve this issue? lgR

The following transitions cause a pause:

i had the same problem today.
server: 11.04
Domain = localdomain
client: 11.10
Domain = localdomain
= nfs4 ok
client: 12.04
#Domain = localdomain
= nfs4 NOT ok, because it uses new standard domain = FQHN - hostname
but:
client: 12.04
Domain = localdomain
= nfs4 ok

I think igot the same problem with amarok (KDE) on a fresh installed 12.04
(64Bit).
Somethimes musik stops/pauses playing at the beginning of a new song.

Since I reported this bug, I did not change the scripts which are installing my
workstations (UBUNTU 14.04)
Putting NEED_GSSD=yes into /etc/default/nfs-common still makes no sense to

I'm getting this issue on the stable 16.04 Ubuntu. Does this mean Mir
should not (cannot) be used in this combination on Xenial ? I merely
like to have a test system with similar behaviour as the mobile one as
development on PC is much easier than on tablet/phone alone.
