I recently switched form Unity to Gnome Shell on 11.10. When Banshee starts, it
is not reported on the volume indicator applet --- which makes a bit difficult

evolution --force-shutdown
which I suppose is the same than killing -9. What happens is that a
network connection hangs (like a refresh), it became impossible to
cancel (it says "(cancelling)" but never do it) and after that
...and I'd like an "edit" for own comments, so that I could correct the
horrible language of #3. Sorry.

It happens the same to me. Basically, the UI *seems* to be usable, but
when you click nothing happens (at most you have another tab doing
something that will never finish at the bottom). When you try to exit,
the UI grays out, and then nothing works.
I have not tried to let evolution in that state

source drivers. Forget 3D game playing, but for the normal desktop it's
running ok.

I have intel chipset, so just open source drivers, and still have random
crashes of gnome-shell. I am trying to run the shell in a virtual
console terminal (gnome-shell --replace -d 0.0 &) to see if I can catch
some error, with no luck till now.

Since when updating to the proposed package, I had no more crashes -
can't be 100% sure it's fixed, given the random nature of the thing, but

Still here in Oneirc. Now the added problem is that the folders.db files
are scattered around, so you need to "rm -f $(find .local -name
folders.db)" or something similar to start recovery, which then lasts
hours (evolution try to rebuild all the folders for all the mailbox in

failed to see that the management of conditional formatting has
drastically changed from LO 3.4 to 3.6. I think I spotted a bad bug that
breaks compatibility with MS Excel.

After the DST change on October, 27, all the *repeating* appointment set
before the DST change and that cross the change date on my thunderbird
calendar are scheduled one hour earlier. Non-repeating apoointments are
ok.

Happily you can still "...save as".
Having being reported on 2007-03-24 (see bug#95507), is probably going
to be the oldest unfixed confirmed-and-easily-reproduced bug ever... ah
no, evolution mailer has some bug older than this.

I can confirm that mount.cifs seems to work ok. Gvfs problem. Anyone

@daniel: I don't think it helps... I have upgraded to quantal, and I
have all the packages up-to-date, but still the same problem. I suspect
a configuration problem from the upgrade, because in another PC, with a
new install, it didn't happen.
