"Praise of God i could solving the problem by installing "hda-jack-

gui ] - then post: [ hdajackretask ] in the gui of "jack retasking" i
found "green Headphone" set as "headphone" i checked "override" and
choose "internal speaker" then i pressed the button "apply now" then
"install boot override" then reboot finally, the problem solved ... I'm
happy now ... thanks for every one tried to help me ... thank you very
much"

Sorry, I didn't see which kernel you are using.
I'm a little confused, you say the driver works in comment #82, but why it
becomes not working in comment #84?
 Could you explain more?
 Thanks.

Kernel is 3.8.0-21-generic

I guess yesterday a proposed-update of the kernel was published.

In the time before alx driver worked properly

[Bug 1153568] [NEW] fglrx broken for a Radeon HD 7600A Series

2013-03-11 Thread Rubeosis
Public bug reported:

Linux XXX 3.5.0-17-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 9 19:31:23 UTC 2012
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Dell Inspiron One Touch with AMD Radeon HD 7650

Installation of the fglrx and fglrx-update drivers fails - nothing happens,
fglrxinfo returns errors
XOrg driver ist working properly

I downloaded the proprietary driver binary from

http://support.amd.com/de/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1product=2.4.1.3.42lang=English

Installation succeeded. However directory /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu has to
be created manually in order to get the driver running.

I would suggest to update the fglrx-update package.

Unfortunately I did not succeed to build a deb package of the binary.
Hope someone succeeds.

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 1153568] Re: fglrx broken for a Radeon HD 7600A Series

2013-03-11 Thread Rubeosis
I am sorry, but I cannot generate any bug reports anymore. At all I have
not tried to solve the problem systematically.

After installing all prerequisite packages building of the package
succeeded.

Could the fglrx package be updated? Would I help if I would send you the
built packages (100MB)?

In order to get the built packages running,

ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu

is still needed as a workaround in the postinst routine.

[Bug 405851] Re: Problems printing images with Xerox Phaser 8560DN gnome-print

2010-04-18 Thread Rubeosis
This bug can be confirmed with a HP Laserjet Color 8550DN on a Hardy
I386 LTSP Fat Client and on an Intrepid X64 Workstation.

I am using the HPLIP-Driver for a HP 8550 which is marked as recommended
in CUPS.

What works:
- Printing images out of Firefox, OpenOffice.org, Acrobat Reader
- Printing pdf-Files with Text out of evince
- Printing PS-Files directly via ftp-upload

However, printing of jpeg-files out of
- eog
- f-spot

causes error 49.481e on the printer meaning something is wrong with the
printing data and I have to restart the printer.

I don't know whether this is really the same bug but I don't want to
open a new bug because this bugs seems to be very similiar.

[Bug 527593] Re: Printing Problem with Images on HP Officejet K550 using Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Server

2010-04-18 Thread Rubeosis
For I exchanged the K550DTN for a Color Lasejet 8550DN I cannot continue
to give further information.

However, I would like to mention that there is a very similar problem with the
Color Laserjet:
- Printing from Firefox, OOffice, Acrobat works fine
- JPG-Printing from eog, f-spot causes a printer crash

I asked a launchpad question. If there is no simple solution I will open
a new bug.

Thanks for your efforts!

Regards,

Rubeosis

[Bug 436135] Re: [needs-packaging] Brother QL-500 CUPS printer drivers

2010-03-11 Thread Rubeosis
I would be willing to support debugging of a package. I found the
Brother drivers linked above and tried to install them but I cannot see
any success and I don't know where to start with reporting bugs... ;-(

I also tried to download ptouch drivers at
http://www.diku.dk/hjemmesider/ansatte/panic/P-touch/

I compiled them (as root) with
- ./configure
- make
- make install
- copied manually the ptouch.xml into /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/driver
- the I ran foomatic-ppdfile -p Brother-QL-500 ql-500.ppd and got a ppd-file

After Installing manually the ppd file in the cups interface I cannot print
anything. As attachment you will find the error_log (partially) of cups.

Is anyone out there with a running QL-500!!!

Is there any possibility to install components of a newer version of

[Bug 527593] Re: Printing Problem with Images on HP Officejet K550 using Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Server

2010-03-06 Thread Rubeosis
Hello Till,

unfortunately your command line options did not solve my problem.

Here is my error output of /var/log/cups/error_log

The picture I printed had about 13Mbytes of raw data. A smaller picture
of about 10Mbytes is being printed out without any problems. Besides I
should mention that the cups printer monitor showed something like
Printing - cannot connect when I printed the 13Mbytes picture. A few
seconds later the printing job was finished (but no data arrived at
the K550DTN).

Thanks in advance!

Hello Till,

thanks for your fast and kind answer.

Unfortunately the printhead is damaged now. I will try out the options
above as soon as possible. Perhaps my problem can be solved in that way.

Thanks,

[Bug 527593] [NEW] Printing Problem with Images on HP Officejet K550 using Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Server

2010-02-24 Thread Rubeosis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

On a Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Server CUPS Version 1.3.7 (hpijs 2.8.2) is
installed. A HP Officejet K550dtn is connected via port 9100.

The printer seems to work correctly an prints e. g. OpenOffice documents
without problems.

However, if I try to print a bigger image (3mb or above) the printing
job is canceled without any errors. I don't think it arrives at the
printer for the printer's job list does not show any new jobs.

The problem is solved when I use a newer version of CUPS at a Ubuntu
9.10 workstation.

Unfortunately I cannot reinstall the whole server in order to solve the
problem and I am not very experienced in installing packages manually
(an I am afraid of crashing our server) For this reason I would like to
ask whether it was possible to publish an update for cups for the LTS
Server version. I can imagine that a lot of problems beside mine would
be solved.

Or can I solve my problem anyhow else?

Thank you very much for your help?

[Bug 378044] [NEW] clamav-daemon does not start anymore after system update - unknown option

[Bug 310250] Re: ltsp-client: attempted to send on closed socket

2009-02-28 Thread Rubeosis
This seems to be the same problem.

http://www.mail-archive.com/ltsp-
disc...@lists.sourceforge.net/msg35112.html

Solution (see there):

 Hello,

because of importance of these probĺems we have now 3 ways to protect
the clients from freeze because of loosing connections:

 1. TCP-Keepalive tuning (the cleanest way)
 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_time = 600
 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_intvl = 10
 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_probes = 50

 2. Using 'nbd-client' with '-persist'-Option (helps sometimes when 1. fails)

 3. Using 'cron' script, which checks every minute ...
 if (the connection is lost) {
   if (nobody uses that client){
   reboot / shutdown
   }
 }
Here you have to remember, that the programs 'reboot/shutdown/poweroff'
and their libs have to be cached, before the connection breaks

Now it works fine: even if somebody does something stupid like turn off
a switch or disconnects a cable.

 Best regards,

 Wojtek

So could anyone please fix the problem now!

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 310250] Re: ltsp-client: attempted to send on closed socket

2009-02-28 Thread Rubeosis
I would suggest adding the -persist parameter to the initrd. However, I
don't have any idea how to do that...

There are two rc-scripts left:

/etc/init.d/nbd-client
/etc/init.d/ltsp-client-setup

I would suggest to add the -persist option here, too.

[Bug 310250] Re: ltsp-client: attempted to send on closed socket

2008-12-28 Thread Rubeosis
I cannot believe that this is a problem of xinetd. I converted the
inet.conf via xconv.pl, it should do exactly what inetd does.

Please refer also to similar bugs and bugfixes, e. g.
http://lwn.net/Articles/267685/.

I think, it is a fundamental problem of nbdrootd.

Are you able to reboot the server, perform ltsp-update-image, disconnect
and reconnect the network on the client without crashes of the clients?
If yes, you can safely close this bug; otherwise, you should not.

Then go to the evolution folder and delete all files called inbox*.

[Bug 34505] Actually a problem of the DHCP Client?

2007-07-12 Thread Rubeosis
I wonder if that problem is actually a (single) problem of DHCP.

- I am using ndiswrapper (Broadcom Chipset, bcm43xx native driver disabled)
- NetworkManager cannot establish a connection at all (that is maybe a
different problem. I uninstalled it completely)
- a network configuration was established via /etc/network/interfaces and
wpa_supplicant; ifdown/ifup commands were registered in rc.local (without any
effect!)
- After Ubuntu has started up in many cases a connection to the access point
has not been established; I need to set it up manually (first ifdown eth1 in
order to close an existing connection, then ifup eth1)
- After connection has been corrupted (i. e. standby mode) I have to retry
disconnecting/connection several times (my wlan device eth1 is not displayed in
the ifconfig printout anymore after a wakeup from standby). The DHCP client
first seemed to be the problem (did not get an IP address), but even after
static IP configuration the problem has NOT been solved. However, connection on
bootup is started correctly with a static IP.
- the dmesg printout often contains the error message eth1: no IPv6 routers
present. I tried to disable the ipv6 module - no effect
- I think I could reduce the number of disconnecting/connection retrials needed
to connect by setting the ap_scan variable in wpa_supplicant.conf to 2
(formerly 1) but I don't know

I don't know if my problem is really the same problem as described
above, but perhaps I can help to solve that bug on Ubuntu. Please
contact me if you need further information!
