Sorry that I took this much time to answer. Ive been away, busy and/or lazy (Ive no really good excuse). I installed (just now) the linux- backports package, and after a reboot the led is working beautifully. Previously I was running driver version 1.2.0. The package upgraded it to 1.2.25.
