I was using my netbook under a high load, so, having open firefox with a couple
of tabs, posting to tumblr some pics, while compressing in the background 310
MB to a 7z-file. The same time xchat, empathy, gwibber, thunderbird where open
and in use - so a netbook with 2 GB ram under a load 1.0

Okay, two - just saw, two are the same.
The F10 key still doesn't work, if only the desktop is visible - and
I already checked it. It doesn't work, neither with my account nor with
my girl friends account. For testing purposes - I deleted my gwibber and
removed the directories from ~/.cache and ~/.config
There still is nothing in memenu, when messages are coming in.
Under the home-symbol in the message
I forgot to say, after deletion I logged out, relogged in and created a
new gwibber account to twitter.

I am very sorry, but from my point of view, like you can read in the header,
this is exactly one bug, the bug that updating from Unity 5.4 to Unity 5.6
broke the complete Unity 2D and 3D. Before the update - both did work.

I wiped my disk, installed first Oneiric Ocelot and updated Oneiric
Ocelot up to the actual package versions from today, all was working

I've done a little more debugging and found out, that the problems only
occur if psi is configured with --disable-bundled-qca (which is the case
in the ubuntu packages) and the package libqca2-plugin-gnupg is
installed.
After uninstalling the package my problems were gone.

The author told me, that uninstall the gnupg support seems to help, but
nevertheless sometimes his roster hangs for a small while.

As I said the problem only occurs if you use not the bundled libqca and
qca-gnupg. So either it's a bug in Psi 0.12 oder the libqca-gnupg. To
really fix it, we have to know which of them it is.

I tried to reproduce the problem on several i386 Ubuntu installations
with all my accounts, but never got the same behaviour.
Due I only have my laptop with x86_64 Architecture I reinstalled it with

didn't help.
