I also get the same error using an Asus P5B-VM DO motherboard (G965) and an
core 2 duo
HDD is SATA working as a raid and IDE DVD-RAM
but even the 2.6.20-6 amd 5 don't work

OK so I think I know the source of the problem.
Basically when Zeitgeist is running and an app subscribes to be notified of
events of specific type, if the app crashes or exits before that Zeitgeist
can not unsubscribe it for a clean shutdown.
