Hi Alexander,
Thanks for the reply. The contents of my /etc/network/interfaces is now
as below, but I'm still getting the same thing (see screenshot
attatched). Connection is still working fine when I go through Kwirless
Assistant. Have I commented out something incorrectly?

I'm having this, too, with the only exception being that Xorg seems to
hog resources when I'm running Firefox whether I'm using desktop (Compiz
Fusion) effects or not (Kwin).
To a lesser degree I get a similar thing in Opera, but only a fraction
as much as FF.
My System is as Follows:

Basically the same here.
I just updated all packages today on my Kubuntu Gutsy and now I'm
getting 60-90% CPU usage pretty much full time, even though daemon is
reported as Idling. Killing the strigidaemon and strigiapplet
processes speeds things up dramatically.

All I did was choose install from Adept_manager and then tried to run it
from konsole (using command pitivi). It crashed before opening with the
command line reporting:

This is also happening on the i386 version of Kubuntu (Gutsy Herd 5 -
fresh install).

I'm just beyond being a newbie myself, but I looked into creating .deb
packages to see if I could do it myself and save you guys some time.
From the looks of it I'd take me about 10 hours to do what would
