No, it isn't I just found the relevant bug in launchpad, and amended it.
I added a udev rule to the bug that fixes the problem, but the udev

OK, you're right. I just re-installed powernowd, and it does choose
ondemand when it's initscript is started, however *something* else is
changing the governer to powersave when I go off AC, and conservative
when I plug in again.
If the conservative governor worked well on my machine, of course th
I get no audio after hibernate, either. It still works after suspends.
Dmesg shows many suspends, followed by a hibernate, after which the
audio didn't function.

My Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi Laptop keeps booting up with the "conservative"
governor enabled. I can change it to ondemand, but a suspend, hibernate,
or reboot seems to revert it to conservative.

When I switch to a VT, I instantly see a spinner, gdm displaying the
login screen. My old session is gone. Xorg.0.log.old indicates an X
crash

Geir I installed the debugging symbols for xorg-core and intel and
couldn't get any more information. The backtrace is essentially the same
as the one in the Xorg log. (see below)
