Next time you have access to that machine, how about doing:
lsof -i
to see whether that gives any indication of which process may be using
sockets
There's likely to be a lot of noise, especially if it is a NAT box - but
it might tell us something

It looks from the logs like this machine is running as vmware host.
Could you please see whether the problem still happens when you are not
running vmware?

The root cause for one of the regressions has probably been found,
awaiting final confirmation. The other we only have one report of, and
it is from an unresponsive reporter who may be running with third-party
kernel modules loaded.
If the cause of the first regression is verified, we will respin
The regression has been confirmed, and is due to upstream stable commit:
af_unix: Only allow recv on connected seqpacket sockets.
This patch will be reverted and we will respin the Lucid kernel.
