Sorry for this issue and the delay on this. A good way of fixing this
issue is to use the official gui and not the GTK one.
I will contact the creator of the ubuntu package, Gauvain Pocentek, to

It is because Scilab needs the Ocaml compiler in order to produce modelicac...
There is not this dependency at the moment on the package.

to make sure clang finds all headers...
However, my patches are Debian/Ubuntu oriented/hardcoded and cannot be ported
