I can't reproduce the problem on Jaunty. I created a symlink and shared
it using your parameters, I could successfully write to the resulting
share. So maybe the issue comes from somewhere else ?

You're right, it's technically more correct to have that lsb-base
dependency (with the version), even if in most cases lsb-base is always
around. This delta could be forwarded to Debian.
The idea is to keep the Debian diff as small as possible, which will
allow simpler merges in the futu
Windows does not support ":" in filenames. It will end up creating a
stream device (with a name up to the ":" character) with 0-length.
CIFS/Windows interaction should detect that though (rather than fail

SFCB 1.3.4 was released a couple of weeks ago. This is a bugfix release.
SFCB 1.3.x users are encouraged by upstream to upgrade.
New features:
- wbemcat: Updated to support multiple protocols
- Inverse xmltests in .lines files
- Prereq checks for individual xml tests
- Allow
I acknowledge this is an issue but it's a difficult decision. Putting "bcast"
before "host" by default slows down SMB host resolution for everyone, in order
to make it usable for those using broken ad-crippled DNS...
On the other hand, this is generating a constant flow of Nautilus/samba bugs.
