programs to/from startup there is no need to clutter up Unity with this.

I do see why you think this is a problem. However, your assumption that
printing involves a paper sheet is incorrect. This may have been correct
100 years ago but as technology has changed so has the way in which the
word is used. One perfect example of this is 3D printing. Anyway
I have checked out the thunderbird source freshly tonight and tested it on two
machines with different gtk versions.
Also the nightly build you directed me to also worked correctly.
I think I may just have found the answer though. I'm using Ubuntu as my
test machine and for some reason the

Before claiming that someones work is incorrect please mark sure your
own is correct first. The fact that you still have .ps should have
been your first clue as the patch that was committed would have at a
minimum change that to .pdf

If this is caused by a gtk bug a bug report should be filed upstream in
the gnome bugzilla and it should be fixed there rather than hard coding
values into rhythmbox to work around it.
