please find the result in the attached files.
I have also checked MD 5 of the CD and burned a new cd, ok.
Thanks for your help

The not working disk is a Hitachi Travelstar 20GB 4200 rpm Model
IC25N020ATCS04-0 from March 03. The disk seems to be ok when using a different
OS.
Please let me know if you
yes, both harddisks are connected the same way. Bios shows primary master,
comes up as hda.
i did some testing on the old harddisk:
1. 20GB harddisk, 5GB primary NTFS partition running Windows XP, rest

Public bug reported:
- OS: Kubuntu 14.04.01
- Kernel 3.13
- Automatic security updates with MUON notifier.
since kernel update 3.13.0-5x the usb ports on my notebook Acer E1-532 do not
respond.
--> 3.13.0.61 generic does NOT work
--> 3.13.0.61 lowlatency DOES WORK
Problem is that
with the 3.16.0-49 kernel everything works just fine.
I made muon notifier autoupdate security updates which includes Kernel
updates. Without systemadministration the usb of all Acer E1 532 will
noct work anymore. Without any exception this happens to all 3 Acer
Notebooks.
