upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 release candidate yesterday evenning.
There were not overlapping before for the last couple of months, so it seems
very evident to me that there is a bug somewhere:

Mmm, curious, I've just upgraded an old laptop (pentium III) from Ubuntu
7.10 to 8.04 (LTS), and I've experienced the same problem (or very very
similar). And I was using the same network driver, I think (I was
upgrading usiing a usb-wifi antenna which also uses this zydas driver.

As far as I know (see comment below), this bug report seems to be still
valid (maybe incomplete, but still valid to me). Please tell me if I can

one, since none of the previous seems to cover my problem.
I think it all started while in Karmic and upgrading nvidia drivers.

can see again the type of hardware under the sound preferences
interface, but not sound yet by any means. Sound level was risen higher

the front speaker. According to the sound mixer interface, everything
was unmuted in theory (but not sound). With gnome-alsamixer (and using

Similar problem happened to me. I would say that I connected to the
hidden network once, even if I don't remember if that was when using
jaunty or after upgrade to karmic.
What I'm totally sure is that I've attempted to connect to a hidden
network (with no password needed) and the network-manager-
of course, the nokia symbian is using a smartphone, not the same
macbookpro...

I have the same problem described on this bug.
Randomly, the system stops responding to keyboard and mouse events. I
only can work with current active window (example: console, web browser,
etc), but without using mouse (clic doesn't work) or using menu with
keyboard (Alt+F for file does not work)
I can confirm the same problem and I confirm that this renaming solved my
problem!
Yesterday I could navigate with Firefox without problems, with all my
bookmarks, history, etc. There was no crash, I simply closed it and today, when
I opened it, my bookmarks and history disappeared.

Sorry for my confusion...I think I have renamed the bad file, but it
seemed to work (extension.rdf instead of localstore.rdf). As I'm not
sure what has happened, I will try to reproduce the error again. What is
true is that after this renaming I made, the problem was solved.
