For what it's worth, I would also like to see that dependency on xml.xpath move
away. I'm not an integrator and I'm not good with Python either, but I still
think that if a library is deprecated, it doesn't make sense to depend on it.
Plus OpenERP should just be an apt-get away instead of taking
Just in case, I'm trying to install 5.0.6 on Karmic with Python 2.6 and

Well, this being said, I just removed "xpath" from line 57 of
dist-packages/openerp-server/osv/orm.py's:
"from xml import dom, xpath" -> "from xml import dom"
and my server could be launched right away. Funnny

I have the silent hanging problem in Ubuntu 13.10, with 2 different sound

Actually, it doesn't hang: it continues to work and record things (both audio

Same problem here, although I was only playing with installing the gnome-shell
package at the time. Because of the error, the "network" option in the
gnome-control-panel ceased working (I'm using GNOME3) and the
network-manager-applet (if this is still its name in GNOME3) disappeared. Had

Forgot to say I'm using Oneiric beta 1 and also did an apt-get update
before installing gnome-shell, so I guess I got unlucky and caught a bad
update. Where can I find the corresponding libnss3.so (or alternatively
is there a command to re-download and reinstall the libnss package "in
place")?

I had to remove libnss3 completely to recover the file (which forces me
to uninstall evolution, libreoffice and a whole lot of other stuff), but
at least that worked out. Thanks, you guys were incredibly fast at
fixing it.

I have the same problem, I think.
#16 doesn't work for me, I still get no authentication with GTalk neither with
an OpenFire-based XMPP service I have. With Pidgin, it works perfectly well.
Note the "only" thing that affected the fact that it works or not with Empathy
is that I upgraded from Ubun
