Public bug reported:
After upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 in december 2009 my system rebooted with this
error. I am still able to use the
2.6.28-17-generic kernel.
Recently I inserted the 9.10 amd64 livecd and attempted to boot and
received the same error.
The error message reads: Kernel panic -

this also occurs on the 2.6.31-20 kernel from karmic-updates
