I have just tried installing the python-gnome2 package and can confirm that
this works as a fix. USB creator then started with no error.
It also installed python-gnomecanvas at the same time

I tried the same for Kubuntu Jaunty and got this error with envyng-qt

I am also a kubuntu user and on jaunty I can confirm that the workaround for me
was :
sudo apt-get install python-gnome2
This then installed the following programmes as well :
python-gconf python-gnomecanvas python-pyorbit
I can confirm that USB then started as it kicked in gksu and up came USB
hmm jaunty now has envyng-qt but it did not work at the moment. Came up
with a postifx error and no kdm started
Got these messages so rebooted and uninstalled envy etc

for me to use...but that may be the way my brain works
