Package libsnapd-glib-2-1 is not available, but is referred to by another

This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:

To:

According to the Nvidia web site, the Geforce 820M GPU requires driver
version 430. But you have driver 460 installed which does not support
the Geforce 820M GPU:

[4.712300] NVRM: The NVIDIA GeForce 820M GPU installed in this system is
   NVRM: supported through the NVIDIA 390.xx Legacy drivers.
Please
   NVRM:  visit http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html for more
   NVRM: information. The 460.91.03 NVIDIA driver will ignore
   NVRM:  this GPU.  Continuing probe...

You will need to uninstall the version 460 driver packages you have and
then install 430 instead:

  sudo apt update
  sudo apt install nvidia-driver-430

If that doesn't work then try:

  sudo apt install nvidia-driver-390

[Bug 1857383] Re: Fractional scaling applies to both monitors when you only want it on one

2021-01-16 Thread Antonio Cardoso Martins
I continue to see this issue under ubuntu 20.10 and Wayland

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.

It seemed that we would not see a fix for X11, but how about Wayland?

[Bug 1911903] [NEW] Auto-reconnection of wifi doesn't work

2021-01-15 Thread Antonio Mazzarino
Public bug reported:

Hi everyone :)

It's a problem that occurs without any possible correlation with other
event (wake up, sleep etc).

In the middle of a session the Wi-Fi simply stop working and not only
the system doesn't reconnect automatically, but you need to turn off and
back on the Wi-Fi to be able to continue your activities.

IDK if it's related, but sometimes also happens that the other Wi-Fi
networks around me are not visible in the setting.

If I can help in any way with logs of any other information please
contact me

Antonio

Hi,
I have made step 1 with the file "_usr_bin_nautilus.1151801627.crash" found

The command "ubuntu-bug " has sent a report but i don't know

2020-11-05 Thread Antonio Mazzarino
Hi Oliver, regarding the first question I've no idea :). I installed
Ubuntu 2 days ago and I didn't change anything respect to the default,
but if you tell me how I can for sure check.

I also attached a short video as you suggested

[Bug 1902900] [NEW] Workspaces menu flashes when moving between workspace A and workspace B having B Firefox with a video in full screen on it

2020-11-04 Thread Antonio Mazzarino
Public bug reported:

As I said in the title the menu with the 3 workspaces flashes if you
switch from a normal workspace to a workspace that has a fullscreen
video in Firefox.

How to reproduce

* Open Firefox
* Open a video in full screen (I tested prime video and twitch)
* Press and keep pressed ctrl-alt and arrow to move between workspaces
* When you reach the video workspaces still keep pressed ctrl-alt

[Bug 1902087] [NEW] Nvidia driver captures xorg on Ubuntu 20.04

2020-10-29 Thread Antonio Santagiuliana
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I want to use NVIDIA TESLA card on Ubuntu 20.04. Monitor is driven by Intel
integrated graphics and the processor is Xeon E.
I installed CUDA drivers downloaded from this link :
https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-linux/index.html#runfile
I used the runfile as it was suggested on some posts online.
The file I am using is :
cuda_11.1.0_455.23.05_linux.run
When I install this file and reboot I can't see appearing the log in prompt ,
Ubuntu shows up until a purple screen but doesn't arrive to the log in screen.
the system is up and working as I enabled opensssh-server and I can connect to
it correctly.

If I install the same file following the same sequence of operations and using
the same HW but with Ubuntu 18.04 this problem does not happen.
On Ubuntu 18.04 the monitor continues to work correctly after installing the
NVIDIA driver and the TESLA card can be used without problems.

[Bug 1902086] [NEW] xorg on Ubuntu 20.04 fails to show correctly background image and icons

2020-10-29 Thread Antonio Santagiuliana
Public bug reported:

Hello I have PC with Xeon E processor and I am using integrated Intel graphics
to drive a VGA display. I am using Ubuntu 20.04 Everything works fine. Then I
add xorg.conf file, for other reasons, to /etc/X11 ( by default no xorg.conf
file is present ) and I get the first screen after the log in is corrupted by
yellow vertical lines and/or corrupted icons and eventually a block box is
present at half height of the screen. See here below the incriminated xorg.conf
:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "layout"
Screen 0 "intel"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "intel"
Driver "intel"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "intel"
Device "intel"
EndSection

and photo of the corrupted screen is attached.
If I open terminal or what else looks good but the first screen is always a bit
corrupted. If I change the background image , the new background appears
without vertical lines. If I go back to the original background image that is
still corrupted with vertical lines. I am sure the corruption is because of the
xorg.conf file but how can I fix the situation ? I need the xorg.conf file
because I want xorg.conf to use only the internal integrated intel graphics and
not other graphics cards/drivers that will be present.

If I do exactly the same , adding the same xorg.conf file to on Ubuntu
18.04, same HW, same configuration, I don't see this problem. It happens
only with Ubuntu 20.04.

2020-09-04 Thread Devid Antonio Filoni
@artella: could you please test the gufw_20.04.1-1ubuntu1_all.deb package?
(please note the "ubuntu1" after the version)
You can also install the package by enabling the -proposed repository and
upgrading.
Thank you!

As of today I have the same problem (which I had solved with #17). #17 does no
longer seem to work.
My laptop is a HP pavilion 14-ce3035nl, linux version ubuntu 20.04 (focal),
with all updates.
I have a dual boot, the sound in Windows works fine.

[Bug 1887338] [NEW] The gcc provided by gcc-10 package produces internal compiler errors not present in gcc version 10.1

2020-07-12 Thread Jorge Antonio Perez
Public bug reported:

BACKGROUND

Simple code involving coroutines results in internal compiler errors in
the version of gcc provided by this package. I am filing a bug report
here because gcc version 10.1 does not produce these errors, and these
errors are only present in the compiler version provided by the gcc-10
package.

On my system, this version is:

 g++-10 (Ubuntu 10-20200411-0ubuntu1) 10.0.1 20200411 (experimental)
[master revision
bb87d5cc77d:75961caccb7:f883c46b4877f637e0fa5025b4d6b5c9040ec566]

REPRODUCING THE BUG

In order to reproduce the bug, create a file main.cpp and compile as:

g++-10 -std=c++20 -fcoroutines main.cpp

Compiling this file will produce an internal compiler error. Here, g++-10
invokes the g++ compiler provided by this package. This file should contain the
following code (code inside ticks):
```
#include
#include
// Compiler version resulting in bug: gcc 10.0.1 20200411 (experimental)
// Compile with:
// g++-10 -std=c++20 -fcoroutines main.cpp
struct promise {
std::suspend_never initial_suspend() { return {}; }
std::suspend_never final_suspend() { return {}; }
void return_void() {}
bool get_return_object() { return true; }
static bool get_return_object_on_allocation_failure() { return false; }
[[noreturn]] void unhandled_exception() { std::terminate(); }
};
struct result {
bool success;
result(bool success) : success(success) {}
using promise_type = promise;
};
result foo() {
co_return;
}
int main() {
foo();
}
```

Under the version of gcc provided by this package, the output of
compilation is:

during RTL pass: expand
main.cpp: In function ‘result foo()’:
main.cpp:25:1: internal compiler error: in expand_expr_addr_expr_1, at
expr.c:8070
   25 | }
  | ^
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See  for instructions.

Internal compiler errors such as these were fixed in gcc 10.1. Here is a
link to Compiler Explorer demonstrating that it compiles fine under
10.1: https://godbolt.org/z/dMrY8r

There are many similar code examples that result in internal compiler
errors, and I believe the occurrence of these errors will be frustrating
for anyone attempting to use C++20 features such as coroutines. In
addition, some code examples (such as the one above) only produce a
compiler error when there's no optimization flag, but compile fine with
optimization enabled. This is extremely unexpected behavior.
