[Bug 995397] [NEW] lightdm nvidia run in lowgraphic mode
Public bug reported: Seems to be a race condition between ligthdm and nvidia driver. Sometimes boot is ok, Sometimes lightdm pop the "running in low graphic mode" session. none of the options works but workaround is to switch to terminal, and restart lightdm for the old style: $ sudo /etc/init.d/lightdm restart this restart solve the problem and login manager is running as usual. I've try nividia-current, nvidia-currents-updates, nouveau, but always random "low graphic mode" occurs. http://askubuntu.com/questions/128417/low-graphics-mode-error-on- startup-with-nvidia-graphics-12-04-lts/131493#131493 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: lightdm 1.2.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun May 6 11:12:30 2012 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (2029.1) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: lightdm UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995397 Title: lightdm nvidia run in lowgraphic mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/995397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

same probleme here, It seems like a running condition between lightdm and nvidia drivers. sometimes it starts perfectly (less than 10s boot sequence) sometimes I arrive in the "running in low graphics mode" windows. workaround: switch to terminal, and just launch a $ sudo /etc/init.d/lightdm restart and the login screen came back may be a nvidia drivers related -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993579 Title: lightdm improperly report low graphics card To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/993579/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 204332] Re: conduit crash when syncing remote folder
Hi, Now sometimes it works, but sometimes conduit close unexpectly when choosing destination folder. The destination folder is 1st "mounted" via nautilus (I browse an ssh://hostname/path/to/folder) In conduit, I set up a file to folder synch. I configure the file, and choose juste one file, then configure the folder, I've a popup with "content folder cannot be seen, opération not supported" and browse to folder location, other, and choose the path/to/folder. This is now where it sometime crash (conduit just shut down). The old crash report was only when I choose to Check or sync this setup. When it doesn't shutdown, I can confirm that the synchronization is done. To sum up, it nows works, but sometimes, Conduit is shutting down when choosing such kind of ssh remote folder. I'm now working on hardy, latest updates done (just standard, not early updates). conduit is 0.3.6 gnome is 2.22.2 I've not updating this bug since I was using rsync to provide this kind of synchronization Le mardi 29 juillet 2008 à 14:19 +, Sebastien Bacher a écrit : > Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make > Ubuntu better. workaround for auto compiz launch: i've had to suppress the .config files, it seems there is (was may be with last updates) a bug with his gnome integration and configuration process. the pbl with OAFIID is another bug (gnome?), which seem to be related with the 3D desktop icon launch pbl. -- [gutsy] compiz-tray-icon must be launched 3 times to activate 3D destkop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135508 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

the 3D desktop can be sucessfully launch with : $ /usr/bin/compiz --replace gconf how the 3D desktop plan to be activated on gutsy ? *creating a new compiz gdm session ? *adding the compiz --replace to the existing gnome session ?
