I've noticed that my bug is now marked as a duplicate of this one,
however there is a not-so-subtle difference: my laptop *will not*
suspend or hibernate, it freezes before it has the chance to do so.

Since my update to karmic beta, my Dell D630 has not been able to suspend or
hibernate. When I try to suspend to RAM, the system freezes, does not respond
to SysRq, and needs a hard reboot. It does seem to lock the screen, but never

A clean install of karmic on my machine solved the problem, both suspend
and hibernate work now.

Apparently installing the package gcc-multilib (which is not a dependency!)
creates an asm symlink to the correct files, see also
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-defaults/+bug/774215 .
Perhaps it gcc-multilib should be a dependency (also of build-essential).

It is however required if you're using the intel compilers, and it is
not in any way obvious that gcc-multilib should be installed in order
for those to work. If build-essential would depend on gcc-multilib,
intel compilers would work out of the box.

Krusader tries to run kdesu to run in root-mode, but this program is not
available in ubuntu. The path can be changed to kdesudo in the
Konfigurator, but perhaps krusader should look for kdesudo by default.

The problem seems to be the execution of 'start cups'... running
'/etc/init.d/cups restart' while the post-installation script is hanging
at least *seems* to resolve the issue here.
