looking at /var/log/clamav/

clamav.log exist and is owned by clamav, group adm ( -rw-r- )
a freshclam.log is there too with the same rights

at first glance, i was thinking that it was because of the first time
this command was run, but running a second time into console: clamd
return the same error

i've checked that clamav group have admin enable, and still the same
errors.

[Bug 715141] Re: Default NTP servers do not have AAAA records

2014-06-03 Thread dino99
I'm using 'systemd' to boot with Utopic. Recently ntpdate has failed. So
googling around i have found that:
- ntpdate is the default ubuntu-minimal choice, even if deprecated. Should use
ntp instead.
- the servers used (ntp.ubuntu.com) has issue with ipv6
- records default servers can be easily changed :

only 2.pool.ntp.org (and 2.debian.pool.ntp.org, etc) returns records
currently.
http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/

So on my system, i have updated /etc/ntp.conf with the
2.debian.pool.ntp.org

Feedback

i've found into dconf that 'geolocalisation' had been switched to 'off'
by some past package(s) upgrade. Setting it back to 'on' then ntpdate
works again as expected.

2008-10-29 Thread dino99
ugrading from hardy 32bits to intrepid 32bits result in wcg (boinc project)
trouble: it can't upload and download work.
After some research, i have done this:
- cd /var/lib/boinc-client ( do a locate ca-bundle if this address is not
yours )
- sudo wget
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/browser/trunk/boinc/curl/ca-bundle.crt?format=raw
- sudo cp -a ca-bundle.crt{?format=raw,}
- reboot
- sudo dpkg -S /var/lib/boinc-client/ca-bundle.crt

then i open boinc manager and can upload every waiting work and download
new one

hope this can help

+ I'm using an Asus mobo P5wdh with c2d, Hardy Heron 2.6.24-14 (same thing with
24-15 / sysinfo 0.7 identify an other mobo than mine )
The trouble is when booting: a wrong device is detected corresponding in fact
(found similar subject on google) to one of the Jmicron / Silicon chipset on
the mobo.
So, booting is very long and i need to add irqpoll into grub.

  Messages are: - (initramfs) 228.001986 ata4 s RST failed error 16
  - hdio_get_identity failed for /dev/.tmp-8-16
  - idm_validate_table disk read failed
  - device is on Dma blacklist, disabling Dma

- This mobo (and P5 asus family) is not very recent (2006/06) but frequently
used by Linux community, and all bios or kernel updates have not solved the
hardware detection. So , i wonder if some words (without disabling multi-cores
cpu) could be adding into grub or some script to blacklist this wrong device
-
- ps: i don't want to compile kernel
