From http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.6/changes.html:
G++ no longer allows objects of const-qualified type to be default initialized
unless the type has a user-declared default constructor. Code that fails to
compile can be fixed by providing an initializer e.g.
struct A { A(); };
struct B : A
A fix will be released in 0.2.8.3.2, which is currently going through
beta testing. 0.2.8.3.2 will also include a few security patches.

It seems like a new HP laptops are using new vendor string which brokes
hotkeys.
Workaround
==
Just to put following lines to fix hotkeys for brithness.
evdev:atkbd:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svnHP*:pn*:pvr*
KEYBOARD_KEY_92=brightnessdown
I would rather recommend to stay on official kernel and wait for them to
release a fix.

port (there's one on the machine and there's one available via a usb 3.1

needing a hard reboot. Before hanging the 2nd display gets an image as
expected, but
Happens on my HP ProBook 640 G2 too.
