How to reproduce bug:
1. open youtube and click on a video
2. click on fullscreen icon
3. see strong tearing, slow playback, little stops in playback some
Unfortunately I can confirm that on my xps m1330 with intel x3100 and
jaunty 64bit up-to-date the problem still occurs.
The behaviour has changed, however: before Jaunty the levels I could
cycle through where always 4. Now it varies, sometimes 4, sometimes 5,
others 6.
As usual, stopping g-p-m
I confirm the bug too.
Wallpaper is nice, but it would be better to develop Ubuntu on Ubuntu
itself.

Tested Jaunty latest cdlive. The bug is still there.
Given that Dell actually sells the laptops affected by this bug with Ubuntu
preinstalled, it seems incredible to me that after more than a year the bug is

I confirm the bug. I update brasero to 0.9.1 from getdeb, but it doesn't
solve the problem.
BUT with a .vob file the button is not grayed.
So, I thik the problem is about brasero-gstreamer interaction.
I installed all gstreamer plugin, and alla library related to ffmpeg and
dvd (like libdvd)...
I confirm this. System hangs during a boot sequence on Configuring
network interfaces. It has started to happen after the 8.04 - 8.10
upgrade.
It works fine after commenting eth0 interface in the
/etc/network/interfaces. Network manager applet didn't show wire
connection before the interface
I confirm this bug on 8.10 (Dell Latitude D830).

- no differences with the ppa packages. Still

In general, hibernate (S3) and suspend action works fine. But there's a
little ugly artefact:

I can also confimrm the behaviour described by arturj in comment 104. For me as
well raising the critical action threshold to at least 360 seconds was working
as a workaround in ubuntu 8.04.

I can confirm that on my ubuntu 8.10 up-to-date the size of the save as
windows always revert to a too small size. Any size change is forgotten.
It seems to appen with all the gtk applications (epiphany, evolution...)

The original bug involved the nvidia nVidia 8400M GS chip, I am
experiencing the bug on a Dell XPS 1330 with intel x3100 integrated
card.
The blacklisting of the video module, which now is not working anymore
as a temporary fix, was never an optimal solution

Please have a look at Bug #251122 and see if purging ~/.recently-
used.xbel resolves the slowness issue. If this is the case, this bug
should be marked a duplicate of Bug #251122 and subsequently closed as
it has nothing to do with mousewheel scrolling.

to touch these settings.
I tried to edit the mtu and mru settings in knetworkmanagerrc by hand,
but they are overwritten as soon as the configuration dialog of
Knetworkmanager is used the next time.
Is there any robust workaround, since I am not able to connect at the
moment?

The boost documentation is outdated. Please read
/usr/include/boost/test/unit_test.hpp
which defines main (i.e. it is not a real symbol in the lib*.so).
You will find the requirement for two precompiler defines
if defined(BOOST_TEST_DYN_LINK) defined(BOOST_TEST_MAIN)

DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS += --with-unicode --enable-threads
The --with-unicode will effectivly define -DODBCXX_UNICODE
which in turn will compile with ODBCXX_STRING=std::wstring !!
