I saw your comment and it seems correct to me.
However, I couldnt find a way to do so easily. I don't know how to make
pulseaudio change my sound card.
- startup - sound video - pulseaudio device chooser does not produce
anything
- startup - system - preferences - pulseaudio preferences does
This has nothing to do with video resolution.
@Vish :
Please think twice before adding a duplicate tag, it can be very frustrating to
take time writting a bug report, to have people tag it as duplicate of
another bug, without more discussion.

Vish, please. Read what the other bug is about. Then, read what this one
bug is about.
And, even god made mistakes. In that case, Paul did one. those two bugs
are not the same one.
PLUS, you are now insulting me. You don't even want to discuss, and are
looking down to me. Just to tell you how

Vish,
I have the exact same symptoms described in the first post, so untill specific
information is given about the importance of hardware in this bug, THEY ARE THE
SAME ONE.

only a sign of the general freeze I had not noticed yet.
I suggest to mark it as dupplicate of that one bug 657187.

Don't delete the /etc/pulse if you don't know EXACTLY what you do. If
you delete /etc/pulse, then you crash you pulseaudio server
configuration, meaning it will infinite-loop start/crash.
Had the same bug after installing the maverick RC on a maverick update
from lucid. rm -rf $HOME/.pulse worked
actually, it aint.
Fresh install, rm ~/.pulse, MUCH underruns.

finally, i can get rid of that bug…
Laptop : dell inspiron 510m (old one ^^ )
symptoms : neither last 2 kernels, nor the live-cd could boot.
patch : add the i915.modeset=1 in grub command line ; or
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=i915.modeset=1 in /etc/default/grub ( then
update-grub required )
