[Bug 1684240] Re: Mouse pointer behaves strangely

2017-10-06 Thread hants
I can confirm this with
Nvidia Driver 375.66
Ubuntu 16.04 + Kubuntu Backports
KDE Plasma Version 5.8.7
Kde Frameworks Version 5.36.0
and sddm

Workaround: use lightdm instead of sddm:
> sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm

[Bug 1721419] [NEW] Average rating for apps incorrect

2017-10-04 Thread hants
Public bug reported:

The average rating for apps in ubuntu-software seems to be calculated
incorrectly. For example

"Genius Math Tool" had an average rating of 2 stars and 9 reviews each
with 4-5 star rating. So i added another 4 star review. The expected
average rating is 4 stars currently a 2 star rating is displayed.

Another package with obviously weird average rating is "Log File Viewer"
currently at average 3 star rating. Considering the reviews it should be
closer to 4.6.

[Bug 882278] Re: The Toolbar of DrRacket is empty

2012-03-16 Thread hants
Confirmed in 11.10 (with updates) and 12.04 (beta1 with updates).
Menubar in Drracket is invisible (but clickable), independent of the used
desktop environment.
Installing 5.2.1 from Racket PPA solves the issue.
Hope 5.2 makes it into 12.04 ! ;)

[Bug 343182] Re: can't use the search in okular when using mozplugger

2012-03-13 Thread hants
May not matter anymore in current releases since using
"kpartsplugin"(introduced in oneiric) instead of "mozplugger" solves the
problem (for me).

2010-05-16 Thread hants
changed status to "new" because no fix is released yet (but one of the comments
shows a solution which at least works on older versions).
problem remains from 8.04 to 10.04.

[Bug 158481] Re: IPv6 causes wireless to disconnect/reconnect often

2010-05-12 Thread hants
Same Problem occurres in Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 (and Debian Lenny).
My WLAN (iwl3945, WPA Encrypted) connection drops randomly after a view
minutes and automatic reconnecting often fails (always asking me to reenter the
connection details and password).
Blacklisting IPV6 solves the issue.

1.13.1 introduces new problems for me - but at least keyboard input (in
chrome) continues to work.

[Bug 343182] Re: can't use the search in okular when using mozplugger

2010-01-29 Thread hants
Mairan`s solution on this page:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=543f0c80bace6c42&hl=en
Namely this:
1 - echo 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/setack/stuff/ubuntu karmic main' >>
/etc/apt/sources.list
2 - aptitude update
3 - aptitude install mozplugger

seems to solve the problem.

[Bug 343182] Re: can't use the search in okular when using mozplugger

2009-04-26 Thread hants
confirmed in ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04.

enabling okular in mozpluggerrc makes firefox open pdfs in okular. But okular
doesnt receive pressed keys (so no search possible).
scrolling with the mouse works. There are no problems with okular in konqueror
though.

[Bug 204794] Re: no sound on asus a9t laptop. can't make it work. i got SiS si7012 soundcard integrated

2008-05-28 Thread hants
hi ,

this solves your problem:

I) open console
II) su to root
III) run alsamixer
go right with the arrow keys and
1) (Master Surround):
unmute (press m), increase volume (up-arrow key)
2) :
unmute (press m), increase volume (up-arrow key)
3) (Channel Mode):
set to 4 or 6 (up-arrow key)
4) (Exchange Front/Surround)
unmute (press m)
5)exit

which is in short:
1) setting channels to 4 or 6
2) enabling exchange front/surround
3) unmuting master/surround and increasing its volume

you can do this with any mixer configuration utility as kmix or
alsamixer.

btw, google is your friend ;)
