I have 2 macs and 2 Slim USB Keyboards. We will call them set 1 and set
2, to avoid confusion. I had an issue with the 6 on the number pad on
set 1, so i switched out the keyboard with the one from set 2. (which
worked fine- all keys) The 6 on the number pad on the keyboard from set
2 didn't

I've had 6-7 freezes since upgrading from Ext3 to Ext4 about 24 hours
ago. Prior to Ext4, I probably haven't had that many freezes in the past
year or more. Freezes have taken place:
1. While watching a video with VLC.
2. While trying to open a torrent file with Ktorrent by clicking a link in

-- that's 180 MB of data loss due to this bug. The file was too new to
even be backed up, so backups wouldn't have saved me.

I should point out that my CUPS problem may or may not be related to
other problems I've been having with my system since upgrading from Ext3
to Ext4 yesterday. I haven't printed anything in the past week, so I
don't know if the problem existed before upgrading to Ext4. Since

This problem strikes randomly for me. When it happens, it's when my
laptop is running in battery mode and I shut the lid. My power
management setting is for it to do nothing but lock the screen but the
screen gets turned off sometimes and will not come back on when the lid
is opened. My only

that they were related (I recently replaced my hard drive and just
started using an encrypted home directory). Specifically:
1) Pre-allocating space takes longer than normal;

Suspect it is actually booting and the screen is blank - a bit of random button
Work around that at least gets me to a command prompt (with saucy):
Press 'e' to edit grub
Append to the end of the line that starts 'linux' and ends with '--' just
before the --:
nomodeset
Press F10 to save and boot.
Get the purple splash screen.
Drops to a command prompt.
What should I
Back to Raring and it now works fine with no modification.
Resolution for 13.04 is that you must be on the latest BIOS and Secure Boot
must be off.
(should have read Christian's response more closely!)
But the current saucy image still has this issue.

What is one to do, with a server with a aic-94xx controller? Ubuntu
12.10 was fine then I upgraded then it would not boot. Had to boot with
old kernel
Went to do a fresh install of 14.04 and it did not find any drives cause
the RAID was enabled on the aic-94xx.

In Lubuntu just go to Preferences → Language Suport and on Language tab set
Keyboard input method system to none.
Then reboot system
Solves the problem for me.
P.S. Croatian keyboard.
This also worked for me on Lubuntu.GB
I indeed have an exact same issue with Hyper-V gen 2. In Lubuntu I came
across that after install I couldn't press enter to continue reboot
after media eject. Also, if restarted manually, it gets stuck at hd
encryption password query. Indeed the fix has been partial as it is not
system-wide.

I should add that I've tried Ubuntu distro too, Xubuntu install for some
reason failed entirely. Affects version 14.10 equally with install-time
downloads enabled.

This affects me on a HP6715b laptop. The Bluetooth that worked in 12.04 is not
