If I apply the steps described in

then the plugin works but only from the root account.
How to make it working from a normal account?

I'm unable to install Intrepid on a notebook because the network card is
not recognized. The atl2 driver is either missing or doesn't work
correctly.
On the same notebook I've installed without problems gutsy, hardy and
Debian lenny.
