I was able to get my sound working by creating symbolic links in
/lib/modules/2.6.24-15-generic/kernel/sound/ to
/lib/modules/2.6.24-15-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver
(I wan't able to get 2.6.24-16 to boot - but i guess that's another bug)

If I create a link to /lib/modules/2.6.24-15-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver,
then I can get sound... am I missing something here?
I read somewhere that hardy uses pulseaudio, but I've updated from gutsy so
I've just got 2.6.24-15 (v2.6.24-15.27), now it doesn't just go to blank
screen, but the X11 recovery screen is shown to allow me to downgrade to
another video driver.

I cannot get sound to work after upgrading to 8.04 beta. I have linux-

I have a HP Pavilion dv2300 laptop, and I've just updated it to 8.04
beta. When I use the real time kernel and nvidia driver (nvidia-glx-
new), the computer hangs after the ubuntu splash screen is finished. The
backlight stays
I've removed the quiet and splash options, it seems to load normally
with each services returning OK except for vboxdrv which Failed.
But after all these are loaded, the screen blanks out (with blacklight
on) and then it hangs.

Just out of curiosity, if nVidia has fixed the driver, how come its not
packaged and released in ubuntu? Or do we have to wait for nVidia to do
that themselves since it is restricted?

graphics configuration screen.

After playing sudoku for a while, I no longer get the Sudoku solved
screen/high score when I completed a puzzle. The puzzle remains in the
Old Games list.
