[Bug 1892521] Re: UI bug - system fonts enlarge after every reboot

2020-08-25 Thread msznapka
I have Lenovo P52 with Nvidia GP107GLM running on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS and
after mentioned update my Gnome desktop is weird - top panel font and
all desktop icons font is scaled up to 200%.

Setting Fractional Scaling in Ubuntu settings doesn't help.

[Bug 587408] Re: Ecryptfs is very slow at listing directories with many files

2011-06-16 Thread msznapka
I compared EncFS with EcryptFS.

I created 10.000 files:
for((X=0;X1;X+=1)); do dd if=/dev/zero of=file$X.log bs=1 count=1; done

Than I measured directory listing time:

EcryptFS:
maco@maco-desktop:~/Private$ time ls -lR /dev/null
real1m4.619s
user0m0.210s
sys 0m1.460s

EncFS:
maco@maco-desktop:~/visible$ time ls -lR /dev/null
real0m0.921s
user0m0.080s
sys 0m0.280s

no encryption:
maco@maco-desktop:~/.encrypted$ time ls -lR /dev/null
real0m0.670s
user0m0.160s
sys 0m0.250s

Result is, that EncFS do not have this bug, so it can be easy solution for
those who are using EcryptFS and have big troubles with this bug - simply move
files from EcryptFS directory to EncFS directory.

my measurements:

system restart

maco@maco:~/Private$ time ls -lR /home/maco/Desktop/temp/1st_e.txt

real10m25.155s

sys 0m14.960s

Results:
ecryptfs listing = 625sec
non-ecryptfs listing = 9sec

[Bug 642907] Re: failed to open VA API

2010-10-15 Thread msznapka
I have exactly same problem on Ubuntu 10.10
I installed nvidia-current, vlc and vdpau-va-driver
In vlc I checked Use GPU acceleration under menu Inputs Codecs
Now I run $vlc -vvv some1080p.mkv

Result:
libva: libva version 0.31.0
[0x14a4e80] pulse audio output debug: Pulse mainloop started
Xlib: extension XFree86-DRI missing on display :0.0.
libva: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva: Trying to open /usr/lib/dri/nvidia_drv_video.so
libva: va_openDriver() returns 0

and video IS NOT accelerated.

If I run $mplayer -vo vdpau -vc ffvc1vdpau,ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau
some1080p.mkv

and video IS accelerated.

[Bug 204616] Re: Network proxy with FireFox

2008-05-10 Thread msznapka
I have exactly same problem.
http://localhost:8080/myApp works fine with Manual proxy configuration in
Firefox, but with Use system proxy settings does NOT work.
It seems that firefox is not using data from Ignore Host List from
System-Preferences-NetworkProxy-AdvancedConfiguration.

configuration:
Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop i386, Firefox 3b5

our company proxy:
squid/3.0.STABLE2
