Well seeing as this laptop is not my main machine and for the sake of it

Opened synaptic and brought up the 5 broken packages and marked them for
removal one by one starting at the bottom,

Intrepid clean install. Just transferred files with gthumb and the timestamps
are not preserved. However copying with nautilus, while painfully slow keeps
the correct timestamps.
Canon G5 camera. And it gets mounted correclty.

I can confirm this bug. But my install on the 4th Nov 07 install the
symlinks into /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and /usr/lib/mozilla-
firefox/plugins and they both point to
/usr/lib/helix/player/mozilla/nphelix.* but the plugin is still not
picked up by firefox.

The firefox directory had no symlinks. If i copy the nphelix files from

Going to tools addons and disabling then re-enabling the flash plugin
followed by reloading the page restores flash without having to restart
Firefox.
Not ideal but a work around until it's fixed.

Now startupmanager
Ok running it with sudo fixed it. There was a panel came up regarding
grub having been locally modified. So I chose the package maintainers
version.
This has now sorted out the problem. It was not writing the new grub.
There must have been difference between /boot/grub/menu.lst and the one
held

tra.exe nocd version to safe location. Then reinstalled TRA
Orignal tra.exe looks for the dvd, finds it, tries to start then crashes

It needs fixing in 8.04.1 LTS. I thought my description was easy to
read. You choose full screen it plays fine when you revert back to
normal size the video freezes but the sound carries on. Only way to get

Background colour default you get a black screen for about half a second

Hi Leann,
Sorry I wasn't specific. It suspends ok. I get a blinking power light
and monitor goes off. When you hit the power button to resume it hangs.
Then reisub to reboot.

Update:- Just tried suspend today and it works. Jaunty 32 bit. Haven't
tried my 64 bit install yet.

Easy reproduce.
Login and on start up open firefox, not maximised. Then open placeshome folder.
Folder opens under firefox and not on top every time for me.
