[Bug 1923547] [NEW] Wi-Fi 6E AX210 for Ice Lake-D (Xeon-D) Edge Server Support

2021-04-12 Thread pragyansri.pa...@intel.com
Private bug reported:

1.  Feature Overview:
a. Name of feature: WiFi with AX210 on Xeon-D Edge Servers (Ice Lake) for key
OEM(IoTG).
AX210 IoTG WiFi cards targeted for IoTG AX210 Industrial /Embedded temp w/OEM
supported requirement opportunity.

b. Feature Description: Enable Wireless connectivity/ WiFi (WiFi-6) with
AX210 NIC on Xeon-D Edge Servers (Ice Lake) with Canonical.

c. Usages for: Enable Wireless connectivity on Xeon Edge Servers for
IoTG – OEM designs

d. Software Benefits: WiFi Driver would now have support for new WiFi-6
NIC - AX210.

2.  Feature Details:
a. Architectures: 64-bit Intel EM64T/AMD64

b. Any Dependencies:
WiFi Production Tools (DRTU/CITU) has dependency on proprietary user space
libraries (WiFi USC) and proprietary WiFi FW binary (not supported in the
default FW binary that is upstream in Linux FW Git). Intel can provide this to
Canonical under NDA. This is only needed for validation purposes only, not
needed for product development.

c. Drivers or hardware dependencies:
WiFi Driver required with support for AX210
WiFi Card availability: Card will be available to Canonical WW27. Intel will
provide setup instructions. There will be following changes needed:
- BIOS changes that are required to support WiFi on ICX-D
- PCIe adapter card to make M.2 module to PCIe – These are not
manufactured by Intel (But Intel will provide these with the modules)

d. Upstream acceptance information:
Driver: WiFi Driver with support for AX210 NIC is already up streamed in Kernel
tree (link below).
AX210 driver is the same as CCG. Only update will be the Device IDs for AX210
Embedded/Industrial SKU.
Firmware: AX210 FE files(iwlwifi-ty-a0-gf-a0-62.ucode and
iwlwifi-ty-a0-gf-a0.pnvm) are already available in the Linux FW repo, Same
version can be used by the OSV’s for distribution.

e. External links:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/tree/drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi?h=v5.10.28

f. Severity (U, H, M, L): High (required for Hardware Enablement)

[Bug 1895358] Re: [Bug] A simple code including tgmath.h cannot be compiled with icc with Ubuntu 20.04 OS

2020-09-16 Thread pragyansri.pa...@intel.com
@dimitri.led...@canonical.com

Dimitri -
We found that Ubuntu's modified glibc header file caused the problem. In the
glibc sources the following line does not exist

&&  !defined(__CUDACC__) && !defined(__ICC)

so the code in glibc's header file looks like this:

#if (defined __x86_64__   \
? __GNUC_PREREQ (4, 3)\
: (defined __GNU__ ? __GNUC_PREREQ (4, 5) : __GNUC_PREREQ (4, 4)))
# define __HAVE_FLOAT128 1
#else
# define __HAVE_FLOAT128 0
#endif

Therefore, the fix/update is needed in the Ubuntu’s modified header file.

[Bug 1885030] Re: [Intel] Add Error Disconnect Recover support

2020-06-26 Thread pragyansri.pa...@intel.com
@ Brad please see response from Intel on your follow up on questions:

 (a) affect Nvidia's use of DPC / EDR, depending upon how their firmware is
negotiating the control with the operating system, and
Response: As per spec, platforms should rely on _OSC to negotiate PCIe
capabilities ownership. So for new platforms NVDIA should start using_OSC
instead of HEST table.

(b) affect our existing installed base platforms that currently end up
negotiating one way, but end up with a different result under this patch.
E.g., the platform advertises "firmware first" in the ACPI HEST, but not via
_OSC. I think it is more likely that server class systems will already do
this correctly, and that embedded / "IoT" type devices are more likely to see
an impact from this change.
Response: For existing platforms, since they don't align with spec,
recommendation is using pci quirks to create exception for their use cases.

This is platform generic enhancement and can be tested on Intel
platforms.

There was a question also on Diagnostics:
EDR related error messages:
1. "Failed to install notify handler"
2. "Firmware failed to locate DPC port" (Issue with 0x0D _DSM)
3. "This device doesn't support DPC"
4. "Invalid DPC trigger"

EDR success messages:
1. "EDR event received" ( for receiving successful EDR event)
2. "device recovery successful" ( for successful recovery)

pragyansri.pa...@intel.com on September 10th. I haven't heard back since)-
Intel plans to test Ubuntu 18.10 Beta image. I assumed this will be released
Sep 27 - Has this changed?
If it is available let us know.

Thanks

[Bug 1752378] Re: Please add Userspace Packages for NVDIMM support

Update for NDCTL Testing:
1. The ndctl package is missing the man pages.
2. The libraries and the development packages should be split into separate
sub-packages i.e. ndctl, libndctl, libndctl-devel, daxctl, libdaxctl, and
libdaxctl-devel

[Bug 1752378] Re: Please add Userspace Packages for NVDIMM support

2018-03-02 Thread pragyansri.pa...@intel.com
Update from NVML Team Testing from Marcin Slusarz:

Several issues found, some critical. List in severity order:
1)Libpmem-dev is not installable, because one of the files also exists in
libpmem.

2)Libpmemobj-dev package doesn't install all C header files, making it
completely useless.

3)Libpmemobj C++ headers and documentation are not packaged at all.

4)Librpmem is not packaged.

5)Libpmemblk-dev, libpmemlog-dev, libpmempool-dev and libpmemobj-dev do
not depend on libpmem-dev (pkg-config files won't work correctly without
libpmem-dev).

6)Libraries are installed to /usr/lib instead of /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/.

7)Pkg-config files in all -dev packages point to /usr/local.
This is actually a bug in pmdk, which we already fixed on master. I think it
doesn't matter much, but it's worth backporting it for 1.3.2.

8)"NVML library" (NVM library library) in package descriptions looks a
bit silly.

9)Homepage points to github, instead of http://pmem.io/pmdk/.
