[Bug 460765] Re: The folder contents could not be displayed. FTP conection using nautilus
I can confirm this. I think it happens after a ftp connection is left inactive on nautilus for a while. Workaround: I found that if I kill the gvfsd-ftp process and quit nautilus with the 'nautilus -q' command (this last step may not be needed) I can then connect again to the ftp location when I start nautilus again but this shouldn't be needed in the first place so this is clearly considered as a bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/460765 Title: The folder contents could not be displayed. It's funny that I never thought of that but with Nautilus it seems that the shares are made available almost inmediately. [Bug 1509664] [NEW] Samba shares unavailable after suspend
Public bug reported: I have noticed that after I suspend my laptop and wake it up again the samba shares aren't available, sometimes they may be available after an unespecific long time but most times, when I really need to access the shares, I just restart the laptop and the shares are then made available again. The samba server is a NAS that is on at all times. I'm on ubuntu 14.04 on a Dell Inspiron 14z n411z. What I do sometimes to accelerate the process of the shares appearing is to kill and start again the filemanager. It doesn't always works or it may just give me the ilusion of working but the results aren't deterministic (sometimes after executing 'nemo -q' several times the shares may appear again but maybe they were going to appear anyways without issuing the command). [Bug 274995] Re: shutdown freeze on alsa shutdown
Suzan's fix worked. But the sound didn't work when I first log in. I had to go to 'open volume control' and un-mute the PCM. No big deal, I had to do this before on the betas for no apparent reason but I thought it was worth comment on it. [Bug 274995] Re: shutdown freeze on alsa shutdown
dAS2000: Still unclear to me why the network interface influences alsa. There seems to be some kind of relation between some sound cards and ethernet/wireless interfaces. I don't know much about hardware but I use to have problems on Vista because of this, for example, if I didn't have the right wireless card driver I couldn't get the sound working (or vice versa?). -- shutdown freeze on alsa shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 288863] [NEW] Intrepid Ibex hangs when shutting down or restarting...
Public bug reported: Intrepid Ibex RC hangs when shutting down or restarting (in the shutting down part) for a few minutes. A black screen appears with what seems to be a prompt (but isn't) in the upper left corner of the screen. When I change the tty the process where it seems to hang is shutting down ALSA After a few minutes the Stopping bluetooth appears and everything goes on as normal. With boot-up manager I tried to locate the shutdown script that has something to do with bluetooth to deactivate it (since I don't use it) and check if the hanging still occurred but didn't find it. UPDATE: I don't know why I'm looking a bluetooth script if the problem is when shutting down ALSA. My bad. The machine is an HP dv2000 (specifically a dv2423la). As someone above me said. Removing the package jackd solves the problem.
