Have you read changelog of your bios upgrade?
I our case we have message repeated at the console with freeze of all
(ethernet, keyboard, ping, bonding, etc).
This is the bessage:

Confirmed that the latest libcurl resolves this problem. The libcurl in
the ubuntu gutsy repositories is out of date and therefore the solution
would appear to be for the maintainer to update the library.
