On ubuntu 8.04 386 my laserjet work as usual. On amd64 version it not work.
The bug is very simple. On the first release of 8.04 386 there was some USB
problem, solved, that don't show /dev/usblp0 and the printer don't print. On
386 version this bug is resolved, on amd64

I've found this problem in another device: my Olympus doesn't show the

It maybe useful say that my motherboard is ASUS M2NPV-VM:
- AMD Live!™ Ready
- NVIDIAR GeForce 6150 + nForce 430
- Dual-channel DDR2 800/667/533
- PCI Express architecture
- Integrated GeForce6 GPU
- Dual VGA Ouput: DVI-D RGB
- HDTV out interface (HDTV/AV/S output module was bundled)
- 2 x 1394a
For the printer problem, I've resolved removing HPLIP.
sudo apt-get remove hplip --yes.
Then I've remove printer and reinstall it.
Now it work.

I've also this problem, I've solved using partition ext2 and ext3. Maybe
and ext4 bug?
