I upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty and now every hour or so my PC (DELL Vostro
1000 w/ Turion 64) logs out. dmesg says:
Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -301051707 ns)
I read that it is possible to add 'notsc' to kernel line

I tried purging apport-collect and reinstalling it.

update:
My /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource is now
hpet and the error seems to be gone.
I tried tsc as well but everything went SloMo from there (litterally: All the
GNOME menus faded in at half the usual speed and after a minute or so the
computer would hang

partition of a normal hdd) the normal boots takes over 1 minute. fsck
and ureadahead take most of the time. When both are disabled (setting 0
EOL in fstab and removing ureadahead) the time for boot is 18

I haven't tried to only disable fsck. Disabling ureadahead still let's
fsck take a long time

I just tried debootstrapping lucid i386 on karmic amd64 and the W:
Failure trying to run: chroot /somepath mount -t proc proc error
occurred. I then tried 'debootstrap --arch=i386 --foreign somepath' and
then chroot ed to somepath and did a '/debootstrap/debootstrap --second-
stage' successfully.

This bug isn't fixed. I am using the newest Lucid build in a VM and the Problem
still remains. On default size some parts of the # selected and size to be
downloaded is cut still. I don't know wether it's conform with GNOME HIGs but
this info should be put in a seperate line or between the

I tried installing Karmic from one hdd to another by booting the
ubuntu-desktop-9.10-i386.iso via GRUB2.
migration-assistant tries to unmount the partition I'm booting from (sda1).
Since it can't succeed it asks me wether it should try again

editing /boot/bootimg.cfg for example changing `cmdline= 448M ...` to
`cmdline=496M...` (see http://www.altechnative.net/?p=370). This helped a lot
in this very memory-constrained environment.
