I have the same problem on my 3 comuters, running Ubuntu Maverick, all
en_CA, all AMD 64.

Keyboard buttons for (un)muting and sound level work well with parole
but do not work with adobe-flashplugin.

Keyboard buttons by default can not control sound level and mute
(unmute) in Gnome Mplayer as well as in adobe-flashplugin.
Surely, I can map amixer cli interface to these buttons.
(e.g. amixer set Master 5%+ or amixer set Master mute) but
