[Bug 1784316] [NEW] volume control doesn't work for bluetooth headset
Public bug reported: Hi, After I've connected my bluetooth headset (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1782893 ), it seems the volume control doesn't work. e.g. if I adjust the volume in settings / audio, it doesn't have an effect on the headset volume. if I adjust the volume on the headset itself, the difference in volume is not reflected in the control panel (e.g. the slider doesn't move) what I would expect is that the volume setting at the headset and in the settings menu are in sync, and these two set the 'same' volume Akos --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c: am17269 F...m pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: am17269 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=2e64cf71-cb2d-491f-b8cd-fef8c3aeb582 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-10-23 (279 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170801) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 1006258] Re: audio input for Intel 82801JI audio device not working
interestingly, if I boot with kernel 3.0.0-19-generic, recording works fine, when selecting the 'front mic' input channel. also, the pulse audio mixing panel will show all input channels: line-in, microphone and front microphone (with kernel 3.2, only a single input channel is shown) additional info: $ cat /proc/asound/modules 0 snd_hda_intel 1 snd_hda_intel $ arecord -l List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC889 Analog [ALC889 Analog] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC889 Digital [ALC889 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 2: ALC889 Analog [ALC889 Analog] Subdevices: 2/2 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 $ arecord -L default Playback/recording through the PulseAudio sound server sysdefault:CARD=Intel HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Default Audio Device front:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Front speakers surround40:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog 4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers surround41:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog 4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers surround50:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog 5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers surround51:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog 5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers surround71:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog 7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Digital IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output dmix:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct sample mixing device dmix:CARD=Intel,DEV=1 HDA Intel, ALC889 Digital Direct sample mixing device dmix:CARD=Intel,DEV=2 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct sample mixing device dsnoop:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct sample snooping device dsnoop:CARD=Intel,DEV=1 HDA Intel, ALC889 Digital Direct sample snooping device dsnoop:CARD=Intel,DEV=2 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct sample snooping device hw:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct hardware device without any conversions hw:CARD=Intel,DEV=1 HDA Intel, ALC889 Digital Direct hardware device without any conversions hw:CARD=Intel,DEV=2 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Direct hardware device without any conversions plughw:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Hardware device with all software conversions plughw:CARD=Intel,DEV=1 HDA Intel, ALC889 Digital Hardware device with all software conversions plughw:CARD=Intel,DEV=2 HDA Intel, ALC889 Analog Hardware device with all software conversions -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006258 Title: audio input for Intel 82801JI audio device not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1006258/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1006258] Re: audio input for Intel 82801JI audio device not working
actually, the issue is fixed not by reverting back to the old kernel, but by adding the following module option into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa- base.conf : options snd-hda-intel model=intel-x58 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006258 Title: audio input for Intel 82801JI audio device not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1006258/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
