Public bug reported: During installation of 11.04, over old system I had, the isntall failed every time with user-visible error ubi-partman failed with exit code 141 before showing partitioning options. The last line in the syslog is: IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory:

I have the same problem while trying to install 11.04 on my desktop (the partitions are already there, from old Ubuntu 8 installation). During the first step of the install, after clicking forward on screen with disk size and web connection confirmation, I get an error ubi-partman failed with
