downloading the updates I could boot just fine but now I always get
stuck on a purple screen.

If you try to install through PXE Windows you'll see that it errors when

1) BIOS Doesn't work fine. Same problem as @bruno USB Boot doesn't work,
DVD boot doesn't work and saving bios settings are lost of exit and
save. No white screen just the changes don't persist across reboots.
2) The hard drive failed leaving syste
Status update: Attempt to install Windows over PXE won't work.
The BIOS is really derped. The error of Windows Installer is: "Windows
could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot
proceed.".

Andreas, my english is very poor.
The problem happens before Window 7 checks the hard disck for
inconsistences and I stopped it.

I tested daily-live of March 19. I don't get any AMDGPU *ERROR* and
suspend is as expected so I think this bug has been fixed.
So what about current 16.04 LTS ? For now I'm using kernel 4.10 but I
have to manually update it.
